Looked up some stats just for fun:

So currently nba average salary is like 8.5m

nfl 3 - 4m
Mlb 4.2m
Premier league 3.75m+

Though nba player advantage is understated since their contracts have more protections / are much more player-friendly.
Top end soccer talent contracts also look nothing like top end NBA/MLB/NFL talent. And then mid-level isn't even remotely comparable. It's pretty mind boggling when you look at it

Boston played last night.
  • Tatum's bigger/stronger.
  • Brown displayed no after-effects from the wrist/knee injuries from last year.
  • Smart looks like he's in better shape.
  • Horford looks like a 12-14 minute a night contributor - possibly.
  • Hernangomez looks the same.
  • Schroeder was very active.
  • Nesmith & Pritchard look like deep depth energy.
  • Rob Williams was aggressive/looking for shots in the half-court offense & continues to block perimeter/mid-range jump shots.
  • Langford hit the game winning three, but didn't see any minutes until the 4th quarter and didn't seem to bring energy.
  • Grant Williams lost weight.
  • Josh Richardson kept passing up three's for meh mid-ranges; played hard with edge.
  • Kanter couldn't guard my dead grandmother in the pick n' roll.

Cole Anthony was really good for Orlando.

Boston has significantly more NBA players rostered than they did last year.

Celtics are the most obv post hype sleepers in a while. Fresh faces and new voice will help them a lot. They will get 3 seed. Heat and Sixers 4/5 in any order. Hawks 6

I think this trade works for both teams, even though it would never ever happen for many reasons.

So Thibs ground his playoffs rotation players' legs right down to their knees in the Knicks first preseason game, obliterating the Pacers, and Knickdom believes the Knicks are unstoppable and favourites to be champions.

Wholesome mod must surely concur.

If we're doing draftees first preseason games hype then Josh Giddey for RotY is where the random money is going now.

You cracked it Inspector Clouseau, Canadians are sending some rando pics of guys tearing their acl's.

Not surprising this forum is dying, so many great posters, but then you get this type of drivel over and over.

Boston seldom played with any force or trust at either end last year. If they commit to competing, they should be pretty good.

Both teams say yes. Kyrie says no, for now.

Kyrie all ready released statements through his agent saying he won't play if traded or something, forget the details but was reportes on. Edit: he said he would retire.

But maybe Kyrie could change his mind eventually? It would actually be a pretty good situation he was traded into, well above average

You're comparing dollars to euros.

Also local tax regime has to be taken into account. Messi and Ronaldo left Spain in part because of changes to tax law and enforcement.

I'd be shocked if Kyrie didn't cave within a few weeks, put it at over 90% he misses <5 games but could be wrong

Thibs must hate the Pacers/Carlisle. I know it's his MO, but he played his starters nearly all game against the 2nd and 3rd Pacers unit. It's was an obvious beating, but what's the gain there??
