Pacers with 47 at the end of the 1st.

Hali 12/1/1 5/5, 2/2 3pt
Duarte 8/2/2 3/3, 2/2 3pt

7 steals, 10/12 from 3. Totally sustainable.

Joking aside, Myles Turner and Brogdon are OUT. This team is going to be solid when they get back in a week or so. They'll probably still lose tonight because we have no depth currently, but our tank may be a little ****ed here.

Rick isn't subtle, NBA is going to investigate the Pacers for tanking if they continue to play Goga.

With Dinwid making that, is Brunson gone? Maybe they just pay him so they don't lose the asset for free but their team from 2 to 8 is loaded with guys being fairly paid. Much like the Hawks, they needed to add that #2 all star while the #1 was on his rookie deal, just much easier.
I think it's quite possible they S&T Brunson to the Knicks to get their 2023 1st round pick back. Knicks (do AND) will need a point guard BAD.

I've lost track of the teams that have shot insane from 3 vs ATL this year. One week ago Toronto shot 63% for the game. Playing Spurs tonight, so not much of a chance they go off - they don't even shoot many.

12/17 from 3 at the half - including Poertel hitting a half court bomb to end the half for his first of the year.

I'm pretty firm watching it if we're being honest.

This is a pace (heh) that this team has just never had. Hali is hitting people all over the court and he's had 1 day to practice with them. His skip pass to Duarte in the corner and is-it-a-lob-is-it-a-floater-to-IJax move is going to be really difficult to guard. No one seems to want to guard anyone, but that's why Myles needs to come back.

Having Hali and Duarte under team control for 7 and 8 years respectively is pretty damn incredible too.

I’m happy for you RT!

If the Knicks fans couldn’t have Haliburton (heck we missed our chance when the Knicks took Obi, albeit at the time I def wanted Hali) then I’m glad that such a great NBA fan such as yourself gets to appreciate him!

Available max slot? They got Smart/R Will/White/Theis making like 55 combined and Tatum/Brown like 65 combined. '22-23 cap estimated at 121M

What am I missing?

Hope someone listened and bet the Cavs ML after the 1st. Pacers ran all the way out of steam as they have like 9 active players.

Hali-23/3/6/3
Hield-16/9/8
Duarte 18/4/3

I'll take it.

I'm far from being a capologist; however, multiple reputable Boston media sites (including the Globe & MassLIve) reported that they have a max slot. In particular, Gary Washburn of the Globe is unlikely to have an erred analysis.

it's no longer the extreme edge it used to be, but blindly rostering any point guard facing atlanta was a massively +EV move in dfs until maybe last year when he began to be able to prevent them from just bursting by him every time

Since January 1st, Boston has played like a well-coached, high IQ team at the defensive end - except against Atlanta.

yeah - unbelievable unless we are all missing something. I mean Horford is only g'teed for 14m - so that takes 12m away from the committments, but I can't see how Boston have real space

At the start of Pacers/Cavs, the Pacers ran out a starting line up that contained 5 players each from a different country.

Hali- US
Hield- Panama
Duarte- Dominican Republic
Oshae- Canada
Goga- Georgia

Later in the game, the Pacers ran a line up that contained 4 out of 5 players that had not been on the team a week prior (Hali, Hield, TT, Smith). At the same time, the Cavs line up contained the same number of players that were Pacers a week ago (LeVert).

Basketball is a goofy game.

It's shocking, but Boston is playing good basketball right now, albeit against mostly poor competition.

That said - this makes the east way more fun imo. So good job by him

Kyrie is a baffoon that thinks the earth is flat. Harden should have known that but can understand not wanting to put his body at risk so the conspiracy theorist can still to his principles.
