Rodman was like a stuntman who was great at rebounding and defense, sure enough. But he also cost his team recklessly at times. Russell was an architect of winning teams disciplined to try never to hurt the team in any way.
Rodman was more about partying, on the floor and off, than he was about winning. Now his skill set damn sure is ultra valuable in winning, but he's not leader of a team to a title: EVER! Whereas Russell spent a career doing that 13 times. Lost one playoff series in his career when on the floor, and that to the GOAT team ever at that point.
