Other end seems brutal for Philly though, put Giannis on Simmons and have him cause havoc

Some of you are ignoring that Durant hit the game winning three at the buzzer, just his foot was 2 cm too far forward.

Yeah that was tragic. You could tell from his post-shot reaction that he really was trying to shoot a 3.

Them's the breaks.

Basketball, like Life is a game of inches centimeters.

If he was transcendent his feet would be a half shoe size smaller.

I'm no James Harden apologist, but the guy goes out and plays the full 53 minutes, less 9 seconds, on what looked like one leg and you s*** on him.

Well he didn’t play game 5 n durant won without him, maybe if he didn’t play nets win. Ok yea maybe I cross the line half pun intended since durant cross the line lol but he didn’t help the cause

Brooklyn lost because the roster couldn't withstand the loss/diminishment of two elite players. What roster can?

Joe Harris hitting a couple of open 3's might have helped too.

SSS for just one series.

Jrue shooting less than 25% from 3 in Playoffs on volume.

Mostly healthy Milwaukee was better situated to handle Holiday's regression to Eric Bledsoe status. Brooklyn needed Harris to be their second scorer with Irving out and Harden severely compromised.

Harris shooting low stress situations 47% from three against Boston is irrelevant; 33% (28% after game one) when he was needed to step-up is significant.

We can talk about sample sizes forever, but his small sample fail damaged Brooklyn. It's not like he brings a lot to the table other than sniping.

Of all the scenarios where ATL wins today, hard to see many where shooting good from 3 is not involved. And with Bogi questionable, where does it come from? Huerter would be the best since he gets the minutes, Gallo since he can just shoot over people. Maybe Snell shows up or Lou can go off with the 2nd team.

Other paths if shooting not there - post up Collins more - or go for defense and maybe Kris Dunn plays to try to shut down Curry.

The Nets shot 35.3% from 3 and the Bucks just 30.1% this series (in the regular season the Bucks shot 38.9% and the Nets 39.2%), so Joe Harris's shooting regression was somewhat offset by the likes of Jeff Green and Blake Griffin stepping up, while Jrue's regression wasn't offset in a similar manner. With that said, the Nets outscored the Bucks by nearly 3 points per game in this series so they were clearly good enough to win, but were on the wrong end of variance. Game 1/2/4/6 weren't really close, the other 3 came down to the wire and the Bucks happened to go 2-1 in those 3 games.

If Harris shoots 40% or better from the arc during the series, Brooklyn's waiting for the winner of Atlanta/Philadelphia.

We can throw all kinds of stats around. Brooklyn needed Harris and he didn't come through. It doesn't make him a bad human being.

I got no dog in this fight; I was pulling for Milwaukee (sorry, McLovin) like they were the Boston Celtics.

Sure but the point is that you could say this about any close series. If player X, who happened to underperform in the series, didn't underperform, they would've won. 3 games were decided in the last minute - any small thing could've changed the outcome of this series.

Shooting is a game of inches to begin with though. Like, you don't get to say, I only missed my shot by an inch. Also, KD did this exact thing again at the end of OT, so it's harder to blame this on luck. With that said, he would've had a much better game in this universe - he was great overall even with his terrible performance in OT, so if you remove that and upgrade his game-tying shot with a game-winning shot, I think that's an all-time performance.
