Legitimate point. Barnes plays hard and one would think the Sacramento front office would consider him part of their going forward core along with Fox, Haliburton, Holmes and (hopefully) Bagley.

In as much as I don't consider Boston to have significant title equity this year, I would prefer Barnes through 2023 as opposed to the oft-injured Porter's expiring rental contract.
Barnes is putting up above career numbers in PER, TS% DREB%, and Asst% which could mean he's taking his game up a level or he's flashing before regressing to his mean - which should be considered.
Boston needs a multi-dimensional wing (among other things) to support Tatum & Brown. When Stevens, by necessity, puts out a line-up of Brown, Teague, RWilliams, GrWilliams, & Ojeleye on the floor, the offensive limits of the roster are beyond exposed.
I've eye-tested Sacramento a lot this year. Barnes is playing really well.
