Nuggets* don’t have the athletes to deal with LA. Drawing stone dead.

Could use a guy like Grant for sure.

Grant would try to score 30 and be 4-15.

Grant would help out that 70% 2nd half opp FG%.

Helps cover for Joker’s fatal movement deficiencies.

Grant and Joker had a negative +- in the regular season and the playoffs, Grant had the lowest +- of any rotation player in the playoffs. You saw two good games and think he's some stud of a defender. He was decent, a great fit with MPJ because he can be a 3 on D and a 4 on O which offsets Porter's weaknesses and gives them some ramp-up time for Michael to be better on defense.

That band-aid has been ripped off and it's forced Malone to either play MPJ and sacrifice some wins or play the Millsap and sacrifice any form of ceiling... now they are struggling to the tune of a much better PD/SRS/Sagarin rating than last year despite a difficult schedule.

SRS takes into account opponent strength, no?

In any event, Denver is due for major 3pt shooting regression (MPJ and Green, especially) and they won 63% of their games last year. That number is going down. They’re at 60% now. That feels about right.

LA shot 69% from 2. Jokic is a disaster on that end against athletes.

This whole regular season, even moreso than most meaningless regular seasons, has resembled perma all star game levels of intensity and effort. Looks like pickup basketball

You haven’t been paying attention then or can’t read the numbers. What was their half-court efficiency? Lal had a 120 orating, but in the half court it was a 102. When you’re bricking shots and turning the ball over it’s going to affect your defensive numbers against a team like LAL, 25% of their possessions were on the break lol.

They will never be an elite defense, but it was their 90 offensive rating that killed them, or shooting <15% on open shots.

It will go up, but who cares anyway? Unlike your team they purposely got younger and took a step back to take a leap forward down the line. And they are still better than your team that traded for a 36 year old pg.

Embiid - seems like it would be hard to score 37 points in 34 mins on just 21 shots and be -23 for the game.

I'm not sure how LeBron keeps doing it. I know they're deep and have gotten good contributions from some supporting players (although Wes has been awful) but they have no business being 17-6 with how AD has played.

Fwiw, CP3 predicted that LeBron would have ZERO decline before the season.

I really think LeBron could pull a Tom Brady and play until he's 43-44.

Kareem, he's coming for your scoring record!!!

Legitimate point. Barnes plays hard and one would think the Sacramento front office would consider him part of their going forward core along with Fox, Haliburton, Holmes and (hopefully) Bagley.

In as much as I don't consider Boston to have significant title equity this year, I would prefer Barnes through 2023 as opposed to the oft-injured Porter's expiring rental contract.

Barnes is putting up above career numbers in PER, TS% DREB%, and Asst% which could mean he's taking his game up a level or he's flashing before regressing to his mean - which should be considered.

Boston needs a multi-dimensional wing (among other things) to support Tatum & Brown. When Stevens, by necessity, puts out a line-up of Brown, Teague, RWilliams, GrWilliams, & Ojeleye on the floor, the offensive limits of the roster are beyond exposed.

I've eye-tested Sacramento a lot this year. Barnes is playing really well.

Regardless of the -23, Embiid's been making the game look easy - every night.

"Stay ready" I am sure Stevens will say...like Nesmith can "stay ready" to come in cold and shoot the ball for 5 mins once a week. He is a rookie.
Right now, Nesmith should be hitting the weight room while playing 36 minutes a night in the G-League, but for some unknown reason Boston has declined to participate in the upcoming G-League bubble.

Nesmith's small, small sample results are making him look like RJ Hunter redux thus far.

Ainge's post Garnett/Pierce trade Round 1 Results:

2013 - Kelly Olynyk, 13th. Giannis went at 15; Gobert at 27

2014 - Marcus Smart, 6th. Solid pick
2014 - James Young, 17th. Gary Harris at 19; Capela at 25, Bogdanovic at 27; Kyle Anderson at 30

2015 - Terry Rozier, 16th. Reasonable pick.
2015 - RJ Hunter, 28th. Harrell, Holmes, Richardson & Connaughton all went in round two.

2016 - Jaylen Brown, 3rd. Gotta be good with that.
2016 - Guerschon Yabusele, 16th with M Beasley, Lavert, Bembry, Siakam, Korkmaz, D Murray and Brogdon all available.

2017 - Jayson Tatum, 3rd. Genius stroke.

2018 - Rob Williams, 27th. Jury's still out on that one.

2019 - Romeo Langford, 14th. Someone needs to send out a search party for Romeo.
2019 - Grant Williams, 22nd - My feelings on Williams are pretty well known.

2020 - Aaron Nesmith, 14th - Time will tell.
2020 - Payton Pritchard, 26th - At least he's not Malachi Flynn.

Guerschon Yabusele? Really, Danny? Really?

When I watch Philadelphia (which is a lot), I get the feeling that on the first day of training camp, Rivers pulled Simmons over to the side, pointed at Embiid on the other end of the floor and said, "Ben, it's his team."
