KD pretty much single-handedly lost them the game, inefficiently hero-balling all game and not really adding much value elsewhere either. It's kind of jarring hearing commentators praise every time he makes a tough shot. The Nets have a lot of good offensive players and Harden looked much better out there - there's just no reason for KD to be taking all these contested long 2's all game, with the Bucks defense clearly more focused on sending help and cutting off passing lanes. No one else could do anything with the volume of shots KD was taking - it was an ugly offense. I think this was kind of their game plan earlier as well, baiting KD into taking bad shots, but aside from KD's shooting regressing, the Bucks seemed to anticipate KD's decision making better. KD's a much better passer than he used to be, but he's too predictable and on multiple occasions the Bucks were just sitting on his passes or sending doubles knowing he isn't going to pass.
One thing I liked from the Bucks was their commitment to offensive rebounds and running in transition. Harden and Durant are refusing to run in transition off of defensive rebounds for the most part, so there's no reason to sacrifice offensive rebounding for transition defense. And if you're going to play a 3-big lineup (Tucker, Giannis, Lopez), you may as well get some bang for your buck. On the other side, consistently attacking in transition and not settling for half-court offense just suits the team's personnel so much better - Giannis is a nightmare to cover in transition.
