Kawhi is the 8th all-star to miss time in the playoffs, this is already the most in NBA history and we are only about half way through the playoffs.

That's fair (though I think this means you're ranking KD ahead of Kawhi and Harden every one of those years?) but then you're talking about, what, 5 seasons? 2 rings in 5 seasons as a top-3 player is doing really well.

I already mentioned that the top-9 or so is extremely close right now. This has nothing to do with KD's historic ring equity - this year isn't counted among those 8 seasons and in fact the last season KD played that counts is the 17-18 season. The reason why 8th is in there because if you raise the threshold to a top-5 or so, you lose KD's earlier seasons. In 2011, KD was clearly behind Lebron, Chris Paul, Dwight, Kobe, Dirk. KG and you could make strong arguments for Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade as well. Hence around 8th.

To find 8 past healthy seasons for KD, you have to go all the way back to 09-10. And no he hasn't consistently been a top-3 player since then. Top-8 may also be slightly generous.

RWB is not a legit star now but he certainly was when he played with Kevin Durant. The game has changed significantly since to his detriment, he lost a bit of athleticism and he doesn't seem to be adapting at all, but none of that was the case at his peak when he played with KD.
