That's fair (though I think this means you're ranking KD ahead of Kawhi and Harden every one of those years?) but then you're talking about, what, 5 seasons? 2 rings in 5 seasons as a top-3 player is doing really well.

I already mentioned that the top-9 or so is extremely close right now. This has nothing to do with KD's historic ring equity - this year isn't counted among those 8 seasons and in fact the last season KD played that counts is the 17-18 season. The reason why 8th is in there because if you raise the threshold to a top-5 or so, you lose KD's earlier seasons. In 2011, KD was clearly behind Lebron, Chris Paul, Dwight, Kobe, Dirk. KG and you could make strong arguments for Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade as well. Hence around 8th.
