You really think it is time to get rid of Stevens? I think it is more bad personnel moves (as well as just a lot of bad luck tbh), they paid a small PG that is aging like small PG's age, Smart got hurt this year like he always does and they probably have the worst bench in the NBA. If someone has a worse bench, then I dunno who it is.
Ainge is more responsible than Stevens for this debacle; however, questions regarding Stevens abound.
Stevens flat-out couldn't handle the Irving roster/locker room. He was out-coached by both Nurse and Spoelstra in the bubble playoffs, and the current team is tissue paper soft - another late 4th meltdown tonight.
There is no defensive connectivity. Opponent lead guards get wherever they want to on the floor leading to kick out/ball movement open looks at the arc or drop dimes at the rim.
There is little to no flow on the offensive end. Side to side ball movement is non-existent. Hero/isolation ball abounds. They desperately need a point guard that can help Tatum and Brown get some easy buckets. Seven total free throws tonight is indicative of the lack of offensive end force.
It's a bad scene and likely to get worse before it gets better.
Fwiw, I only had a single Grant Williams "get him off the f*****g floor" scream tonight.
