Rose's career pales in comparison to lots of others, but his PEAK was really F good and $1 is insane for him (although less valuable in today's game since he can't shoot the 3 well, but same can also be said for all the olds). Similarly, LUKA might be one of the all time greats, but he's not already at the same level as Peak AD



$1 - Rose, too much value here
$3 - Klay. Gonna need shooting with DR as the 1. Can't be that material of a diff between Klay at $3 and Reggie and Ray Allen at $5 who play similar roles and aren't as good defensively
$7 - Lebron. Assuming you're going against other superteams ITT, it's going to be really hard for a "team of goods" to overcome a generational superstar surrounded by more talent than they've ever had. Probably gonna have to have Lebron or Jordan (or Shaq), and tough to pair Jordan with non shooters. I'd take Jordan and a bunch of scrubs over Lebron and a bunch of scrubs, but I'd take Lebron and a bunch of other greats over Jordan and greats.
$2 - Sheed. Would be amazing in today's game. Took the Pistons to a championship level and shot 35% from deep before it was cool
$2 - Arvydas Sabonis - A little bit cheating, since he didn't come to the NBA until 31 and his peak was probably back in the USSR, but a lot of people say he might've been the best center ever in his youth. Shot 37% from three his first two years in the league before that was a thing, unbelievable passer. At 7'3" he could (and did) bang with Shaq, but was also nimble enough not to get totally fried by the biggest guys in small ball lineups


Like all the picks individually but not sure how well they mesh. Mostly Lebron, Rose and a bunch of players who can shoot and pass. Gobert at $2 is almost definitely a worse player than Sabonis but might be a better fit. Thought about CWebb too, he never had that star player mentality but could be a great fit on a team like this, good passer and defender

Can't decide if the big guys of the old eras were overrated because the entire game revolved around them, or underrated because they have lots of skills that people don't have today, whereas guard skills have basically monotonically increased through time.
