Interesting idea.

How can Lakers match salaries though?

Edit: Daryl will likely double down and trade for JIMMY. Who will then leave in free agency.

I guess I’d understand it a tiny bit if his jumper wasn’t broken and they didn’t get rid of two good defenders this summer. But those things are not the case at all.

Watched him (barely) dunk a ball a few nights ago and thought he’d thrown out his back.

Melo absolutely destroying another team is by far my favorite storyline of the 2018-19 season. From legit title contenders to...MELO

Dang, Simmons did not look good today. He really needs to start taking those midrange jumpers, even if it's only to balance his range. Saric keeps undershooting his 3's as well. Fultz gaining some confidence tho.

Kawhi is good.

kings record isnt a shocker cuz theyve played a bunch of poop teams.

my answer is bucks. they were very popular team-gonna-improve by replacing poopkidd with coach bud, but their start so far is nuclear powered heatblast facemelt. its like when the hawks won 60 games except they have an MVP player and they dont have to play lebron. makes the east a lot more interesting when the popular opinion was raptors/celtics. its nice to add a wrinkle.

Morey has always been a combination of stat nerd and Starstruck fanboy.

i would not overreact on washed melo just yet. i think a season in the rockets system plus the guarantee that his role is 8th man who primarily shoots threes means he can provide value to the contract. he's shooting 36% from three so far, thats more than enough for 8th man on 1y/2.3MM

Inspired by the announcers thread bump: John Collins joined the broadcast in the 2Q tonight, and I could see him having a future in TV. Lighthearted and decently insightful; he's already better than Nique at it and he's 21.

Related, Bob Rathbun is one of the best play-by-play guys there is. He's awesome, and he and Nique have a great rapport. As Collins left the broadcast, Rathbun said "Hey John we keep it real here!" which cracked me up.

I listened to the Lakers radio broadcast of Lakers/Nuggets the other night while driving, and I found myself actually cheering for the Lakers when I had money on the Nuggets. They were awesome during the comeback. Listened to the Cavs radio in the 2H tonight, and they were the opposite. I could hardly tell if a shot was made or missed half the time.

There are like 3 things wrong in this sentence, well done.

Kawhi seems to be smiling out there more than ever, just a fun guy out there doing his thing.

Kawhi has a whole nation behind him. If he re-signs with the Raptors he could be even elected Prime Minister.

Is this just indicating he’s not playing slower? Looks like roughly between regular season 2017 and playoffs 2017 speed wise?

Kings record is most surprising for me, I don't think their schedule has been overly soft. I expected them to be either the worst or second worst team in the league.

Bucks look amazing but if you're just talking which record is most surprising (which the question was) I think the presumed ~6-8th best team in the NBA goes 7-0 more often than the worst one goes 5-3.

i dont think you can take static evaluations on teams being ****ty when they also happen to be hitting their age 25 seasons and figure to make improvements. they'll still be bad, but won't be bottom of the barrel. buddy, fox and WCS all appear to be making improvements.

lets not forget that the magic last year started 8-4 before finishing the season 25-57.

if kings stay at this pace and sweat the 8 seat into the ASB, thatd be most surprising thing to me in years lol.

the magic start was really obv smoke and mirrors. they were like a million percent above EV on 3pt% and 3pt% defense. I haven't looked into any stats so I dunno how the kings are running, just pointing that out.
