Lonzo is fun. Makes so many quick passes before the defense has a chance to rotate/adjust to the one to him.

Blake balling out again tonight too.

Really curious what the 4 first round pick Butker trade looks like. Knight or Chriss almost has to be involved since they can't be traded with other guys until 10-31 and why would it not be accepted already if the 4 first offer is available now. Sure the Rockets pick this year isn't likely to be good, but they will be capped out with an old maybe broken Chris Paul in a few years, those picks could be juicy.

For it to be four picks, it has to be 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025 if no third team is involved. The protection can't involve a pick not conveying and being kicked to the next year.

Let's assume that 2019 and 2021 protection doesn't matter, even though the wrong injuries and having to rely on Carmelo could make the Rockets miss the playoffs in an extreme worst-case scenario. 2023 seems like a reasonable case where you can give it top 14 or top 10 protection and it becomes seconds in 2023 and 2024 if it doesn't convey. 2025 is the hard one to figure out what is fair. Maybe 2025 can be top ten protected and if it falls in the top ten, then Minnesota gets the 2025 second and pick swap rights unless it is top three. Or, maybe you let the Rockets have reasonable protections in exchange for swap rights in 2022 and/or 2024. Top ten protection for the four picks and top five protected swap rights in 2022 and 2024.

tarheeljks, draft picks have zero cap value in matching salary for trades, if that is what you are asking.

I admit, I'd like to see Jimmy Butler reacting to Melo's defense.

I think it depends on whether his body can hold up to a hard 25 minutes a game for an extended stretch. His numbers on a per minute basis were great with the Warriors

I don't want Butler to go to Rockets but 4 first round picks maybe too much to pass on. 76ers better step up their offer cause he's absolutely perfect for that system.

Yeah...he just needs to not force it....let it all come to him...stats/shots don't matter.

It's actually amazing watching the difference between Luka & Dennis. As good of a prospect as Dennis is, Luka just rolls in and has it figured out in game 2.

I'm still reeling from blowing a 26 point lead to the Hawks. I think HB and Dirk coming back will make a huge difference in stabilizing things. On one hand, it's a positive that we were able to get up 26 on someone on the road, although blowing it is mind numbingly depressing. I hope the good sticks around and the bad is sort of curtailed by Dirk/HB.

I'm glad we got to finally realize the Javale/Lebron pairing that TZ drafted six years ago. As expected it's totally awesome.

I'm pretty proud of Javale... but a bit saddened that imo his image hast cost him a lot of money in recent years.

I'm surprised you guys don't like Webber. I like the way he talks and he gives some decent analysis from a players perspective. You can tell he really loves the game. I think he would make a great high school coach with the enthusiasm he shows.

Cant be too sad. A lot of his image he made by doing some pretty in-explainable things on the court.

I just watched the last 5 minutes of the Lakers/Nuggs game from last night. Holy Hell Ball is amazing on defense (and brilliant on O). He was behind every one of the four turnovers they had at the end, and he did so without sacrificing the integrity of their defensive alignment.

I think he'll be the best rookie from his class.

Probably free. Curry loves to drop 40 on the Knicks.

Agreed. They probably cover before the rotation players even come on the court.

you have 4 all stars in the starting lineup vs Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr., Noah Vonleh Damyean Dotson and Mitchell Robinson

Javale is a great pairing for any player who draws help on drives because he really excels at catching lobs. His combo of bounce and length is pretty stupid.

Ball, Hart, Ingram

LeBron might be the weak link on D there

I'm not convinced that Ball will ever be able to carry a team as a scorer, but based on what I've seen this year, taller Jason Kidd could happen.
