Seadood I'll take up to 1k. Don't post much on tz but have a bunch of trades in the hsnl forum. I think dame is a way overvalued/overrated atm.

Is Ballmer the best owner in the NBA? There are great owners who don't meddle and love their team, and then there's Ballmer who's all of the above with ten times the net worth minus any of the ego associated with an NBA owner.

There is at least 500 left, want it? I will likely be able to get more if/when Denver wins because that's usually when he starts talking smack on one of our group texts.

qfb... And it's Denver straight up, I'll confirm once the series is over.

Spoiler:
Please win Denver

Mitchell sure takes alot of hate in this thread for this being only his second year and it doesn't really seem fair. He showed up in big ways more than a few times in his first year and even at times in his second year. Give the guy a few more years before you crucify him.

Note on that Harden defense. It seems like it completely eliminates his step back attempts and that the defender can even sort of contest his straight up three point attempts from that side. Although once Harden decides to penetrate Houston has numbers and it's a fine line between either giving Harden that floater or him dishing it off to a teammate underneath for an easy basket or kicking it outside to another teammate for an open three. It's interesting and considering how deadly Harden is with that step back or penetrating normally when face to face it seems like a better case scenario for the most part.

Mike D'Antoni seemed to really brush it off and shy around it when questioned about this type of defense in the post game conference so maybe he even sees the merit in teams defending his team in that way. It certainly helps to have a quality rim protector but even without one it might be the best strategy.

If the Clippers beat the Warriors 4-3, then KD joins the Clippers, right?

Curry was super passive last night. Was mostly fine because Durant had it going but down the stretch he didn’t look in the flow. He needs to fight for touches even when Kerr puts him in decoy mode.

Only saw the second half but don’t fully buy the effort being lacking then, though they def turned it up late. Reality is they are about six players deep and Kerr is still touting strength in numbers lol. One of the worst games Kerr has coached in the playoffs

Also thought the whistle was pretty rough down the stretch. Curry getting mugged and no calls but Clips got a lot of fouls called

Edit: Lou Will also hit some pretty tough shots down the stretch. Harrell is a nightmare when Bogut is in. Didn’t really do much when dubs went small

Also note that Doc has basically glued zubac to the bench. Kerr getting destroyed tactically

The problem was the first half. We were 10/16 from three with only 3 TOs.

We were down 8.

Normally with those numbers in the first half we'd be up 15+

Media focusing on how bad the Warriors were, when they should be focusing on how good Clips were.

Harden finished the Utah series scoring 28ppg on 37% shooting (35% from 3) and 6 TOs a game, so the defensive scheme worked.

Shows how good Houston is though that they still beat them fairly easy 4-1.

How many players could score efficiently in Mitchell’s role? He’a got a lot of chuck in him and you can say he doesn’t create looks for others much, but the other jazz players are all low usg guys on their own. The list of players is who could do it contains the premiere offensive players. He’s asked to do more than he can

To be fair JazzFan, being a fan of a franchise with the worst name/city combo ever, rates their players in order of how likely they are to live in Utah. This is because they know how sad their location is and want others to share their misery. White guys are clearly #1. A person of color gets a pass since they see one of those every few months, but only if they are on their team, as that shows willingness to live in Utah, even if it's for millions. However a Spanish guy would never be caught dead living in Utah, leading to utter contempt from JazzFan.

I'm just not buying this. I think there are several guys who, given the opportunity, are going to be just as if not more dangerous when given the opportunity to pull-up from not-so-efficient ranges or take shots floaters and shots at the rim despite being statistically the lowest of all high-volume players from both zones.

Also I'm not buying how he has no help. It's not like there aren't other guys who can't take shots nor are his passing lanes that difficult.. Sure his team struggled with shooting for portions of the season, but he's taking SOOOO many worse shots even though relatively easy passes are open.

If you put Devin Booker, Lou Williams, Jamal Murray, Monte Morris, hell even Malik Beasley in that role I think the results are similar. DM is a much better defender than all of those guys, but I also wonder how much better the latter would look if they had the luxury of playing with the best rim-protector in the game and can therefore never be worried about blow-bys.

I mean take Malik Beasley and give him a green light to pull-up from anywhere or force shots to the rim. How high would his USG% have to be before their EFG's factoring the turnover difference converge. And don't get me started on DM's ability to draw fouls, a lot of that imo is due to the push he's gotten as a star.

Curry only took 5 3s last night, and he made 4 of them so its not like he was running cold or anything. They would be better off with him taking 30 3s than only taking 5. Ideal # is somewhere between 15-17.

The blame should fall on Kerr, he is playing curry off ball way too much.

tbf Durant had it going.

The problem with the Warriors wasn't their offense.

THIS. And truth be told I don't think their defense totally let them down, except for maybe a few effort plays here and there.

This was more about LAC being great than GSW failing, imo

The lack of effort was more of a 1st half thing. They weren't playing with any intensity on D, Clipps could've easily been up 15+ at half if they made more open 3's.

Only shooting 32% on open 3's in this series.

Think GS blows them out tmrw but that is gonna be a quick turnaround for gm 1.

Also agree that Clipps got more calls 2nd half last night, had a "we need a game on Friday" feel to it.
