I’ll stand by what I said in that I can see a lot of games where the lakers look like they are smashing and then you look up at the scoreboard and it’s close. Entertaining as hell but too many knuckleheads imo.

Booker will be fun to watch, and Ayton has some upside. Not sure if those are your two cornerstones in 2018 You are looking at much title equity in the future even with both as all stars.

That being said watching them against my Mavericks (who seemed to be overrated by some, underrated by others preseason), I do think the Suns will be better this year than most people gave them credit for. Sure they shot ridiculously from 3pt in game 1 but that is a good sign in terms of how their coaching staff can execute the offense in modern nba. Could come down to close game record and shoot outs that determine their fate but I would be surprised if they are legitimately in the run for worst record this season.

With all that being said I would say it’s probably silly to read too much into what that game means for both teams right now. I think the next few teams will give a clear indication of where these teams are headed, at least this years.

Oh yeah I think ariza is a big X factor for the suns and the main reason I can see them stepping up to more of a middle of the pack (out of playoffs) team than a bottom of the pack team.

Nurk should focus solely on garbage buckets, especially off ORebs, and get a nickname like "Raccoon" or something else known for digging around in garbage for sustenance

Yeah for me because of the nature of the game today I see their upside as a perennial 3-6 seed who is out by second round all the time.

They would need to add a very well rounded player who can be one of their top two players while those guys continue to massively improve. That includes Ayton improving a lot defensively too. I don’t see having your two best players being pretty much just scoring weapons as giving much equity for a title.

Rondo is playing well but i feel bad for Lonzo. I hope Lavar goes off in the media hahah.

As my last two posts noted I am insanely high on the Suns right now with no affiliation, but with that, I think a 10 seed is their absolute ceiling this year, and the chance for that is relatively small. Something unknown at this point would have to happen for them and the conference for it to be any higher.

I think their win total will be in the 30s.

yeah signing Rondo was kind of weird if all it accomplishes is blocking guys like Ball & Hart from developing this season

I'm pretty happy about Lebron making Lavar irrelevant, but um, it would be cool if we can give Lonzo more minutes than Rondo.
