I don't think of it as a flex, it's not like he's out there trashing the Jazz. Both are weak-moves because they didn't even try to stop Booker or the Rockets from their feats, they just fouled someone else just as MJax did to the Rockets. Play some defense and try to stop it that way instead of that weak ****.

I mean, let's say this is baseball and Mike Trout had 3/4 of the cycle with only a single needed and his team is down by 10 with nobody on. Walking him rather than giving him the opportunity to accomplish the feat is weak af. This "integrity of the game" or "showing up the players" stuff is nonsense, imo.

Ah ok, I didn't see the end, but someone else said that the Jazz were still playing D but doubling Booker, which seems fine. But if they intentionally fouled someone else rather than even letting the guy run the offense, that's kinda weak.

Well in the other end why isn't it ok to say "**** You" and just try to get under his skin. If the game was close they wouldn't be fouling intentionally to give them points. I don't really care one way or the other but whining about another team not letting you score 60 is the exact reason why they would do it.

Edit: just to clarify I wouldn't do it and if you view it as purely entertainment they shouldn't do it in fact.

Gobert just set the record for most dunks in a season (only started counting in the late 90s).

I'm blown away by the record not being owned by Shaq previously. It's only 3 and a bit dunks a game.

Is there a list by year?

Tyson Chandler would be up there I think.

Is it really that surprising that the record was Howard instead of Shaq? Especially since Shaq's three highest FGA seasons came before they started keeping track?

The list of players with 200+ dunks in a season since 2000-2001 is short: Shaq, Amare, Howard, Blake, DAJ, Gobert, Capela, Davis, Giannis. Harrell could join the club this season.

Josh Jackson has the worst dunking % this season. Only 78% on 59 attempts. Has anyone watched him dunk much?

it's def a flex. the game outcome has been decided.

edit: at the point in which booker decides " we're getting destroyed, but i'm going to get mine" i think it's fine for a team to say "nah you're not." they already won the game and can do w/e they want. now *i* actually wouldn't do that in the jazz' shoes and would just kinda laugh at him for thinking he's balling out, but i get the sentiment

i don't think flexing is strictly bad either. makes **** fun. lol at flexing when your team is getting run tho.

the dynamics of player and team interactions in a baseball game are different so that analogy doesn't land imo. baseball players can't call their own numbers, though i get where you are going

I didn't find a list.

Chandler has only a few seasons where his total field goals made are more than Gobert's dunks this year. He's probably on the high end of percentage of shots that are dunks, but he didn't take that many shots.

His career high was 193 in 2007-2008, when he was 3rd in the league. He's also only had 3 seasons of 70+ games and 30+ mpg.

pace prob a factor also? hornets played ~90 possession per game in 2007-2008. Jazz at 100 possessions per game this year. chandler played ~2800 min that year 14.5% usg. gobert currently ~2300, 17.7% usg.

Woyaz and Duke with similar achilles this year ... weak, weak bench. NCAA's may be a preview of association playoffs in that regard.

Phoenix put the scrubs in, waving the white flag down 35. Utah then cleared the bench too as per protocol. Then Phoenix put Booker back in to play vs. scrubs.

So Sterling Brown is starting in place of Tony Snell who was starting in place of Mirotic who was starting in place of Brogdon. Just in time for the playoffs!
