"Jordan wipes the floor with the warriors."

You don't actually believe that. Nice troll though as you got one reply out of me. There won't be a second one.

tchaz,

Porzingis has also expressed that he loves living in NYC.

If he connects with the next coach and they get a (legitimately) good player in this upcoming deep af draft I believe he'll sign a deal with the Knicks.

There's an MJ vs Labron Containment Thread. Is there a Best NBA Team OAT Thread, is it just a topic that comes up here in TZ every so often?

Yes - I've read that multiple times. I'm sure it's true. I think he could like living in Miami or LA as well almost to the same extent. Probably some other cities as well.

I mean ..it seems it's not dependent on the local indie &/or folk music scene / comedy scene / off-broadway ..? It's the ubiquity of instagram thots in the club VIP rooms.
But the big plus is the advertising market.

Hell - the guy lives in a modest-ish appt in Westchester still, right? With him mom cooking for him. So, maybe? This isn't exactly like you or me living in NYC aged 22. :shrug:

Agreed - I think Jeff has to get canned - and then we'll see. But, eg, if the Knicks win the lottery and pick Ayton or Bamba then I think it's very possible he'll walk 100% of the time regardless of the coach.

If the Knicks win the lottery I fully expect them to keep Porzingis in the loop with the selection process.

Plus the model for NBA success is that you need a guard to feed a big. You got the big with Porzingis so you ldo take Doncic.

I know it sounds incredibly simple, so I imagine the Knicks may still **** it up given the chance. Dolan could get a real hard on for Ayton or Bamba and dream about having twin towers in a league where nearly everybody is playing small.

There isn't a best team OAT containment thread but I guarantee you (besides right now mentioning it) I am completely done with the topic.

One would hope so. But for now he's just an incapacitated extra. I imagine the Knicks will play "tough" over contract extensions until KP has "proved" he's recovered from the ACL-surgery. [That's the GT-optimal position ] Given that that's the likely bargining position .. :shrug: .. hard to tell .

Last summer we had all the criticisms about KP missing the exit meeting with soon-to-be-sacked-Phil, and plenty of fan-talk about how Janis should be exluded from any interaction with the franchise. The only good things that didn't happen by accident to the Knicks (apart from drafting Frank, depending on if you think this was an accident or not) this year are: KP's gains over the summer & Troy Willliams

Eh.

Thinking again, you're probably right.

I do think if, eg., the Washington and NY franchise were switched then KP would be close to walking, but they aren't, and he probably isn't

good talk

There isn't a best team OAT thread because it's so obviously the Warriors there wouldn't be any discussion.

Last post by me on the topic.

and?

he made 35M and sometimes 6M a year, never 10M. there is a good chance he's broke. this is standard operating procedure for most ex-NBA players. i think 80% are broke 3 years after the league. doubt the % as high with someone who made 25M but he could easily be close to being broke.

Baby seems like enough of a knucklehead to go broke but I do think the "X % of players go broke 3 years after playing" #'s are pretty deceiving, they tend to include all the 10-15th men that didn't get more than a cup of coffee in the league.

The # of guys that make 30m+ in career earnings and go broke is likely much lower. Yeah you will have your Antoine Walker's but most do fine I'm sure. Especially now that guys make so much money.

Yeah I long for the days of NFL dudes getting busted with pounds and pounds of weed. Four ounces hardly moves the needle now, for comparison here's what I can have in Oregon:

Q: How much marijuana can I have?

A: The personal possession limits are:

One ounce of usable marijuana in a public place;
Eight ounces of usable marijuana;
16 ounces of a cannabinoid product in solid form;
72 ounces of a cannabinoid product in liquid form;
Five grams of cannabinoid extracts or concentrates, whether sold alone or contained in an inhalant delivery system;
Four immature marijuana plants; and
Ten marijuana seeds.
