Payton's numbers, especially this season, much better than I thought.

10 days ago the Knacks had 4.5 centres. Tonight they are down to Kyle O'Quinn and G-leaguers.

I assume the point of the Lakers trade is to clear cap space, right?

And it feels like Nance is slightly better than an early 20s pick. (Not a star, not a ton of upside, but solid contributer and 2 more years of a cheap contract)

So, basically we unloaded Clarkson for free. At $12m, that's a good deal for a team trying to contend, it's not like a poison contract the lakers would pay to unload, but the Lakers value the space. Feels like we could've gotten at least something for that? People were talking about Lou Will or Tyreke for a 1st and teams weren't biting, and Clarkson's not quite as good as those guys, but surely we could've traded him to Washington or Philly for a second?

Like would Philly have given us a second and Booker or Amir Johnson's expiring in exchange for Clarkson, and we could keep Nance? I'd rather have Nance and a 2nd than just a late 1st

On the plus side the Knacks now have 4 PGs.

i mean, what playoff team has a PG hole big enough that Thomas would walk into their starting lineup? seems like he might have to wait for someone to get hurt

He is incredibly bad yes. No idea why any team would want him.

Legit heard a host on NBA Radio say the Knicks wanted Payton but wouldn't give up FRANK. wat?

Should try and play them all together, it worked really well last time hornacek tried that. LOL

supposedly the Magic were trying to give Payton away forever, but nobody wanted him

the super desperate Suns only stepped up and took him after Mudiay went to the Knicks

Apparently Orlando tried to persuade the Knacks to trade Payton for Frank.

Even Dumb and Dumber figured out that wasn't a good deal. Possibly helped by this

For the twentieth time this season Dumb and Dumber have emphasised yesterday that this year for the Knacks it is all about youth (players under 25 years old) development.

Expected starting line up tonight:

O'Quinn
Beasley
Lee
Hardaway
Jack

6th man: Thomas

But I could have endorsed a line up of

C: Noah
PF: Kanter
SF: Willi
SG: Staps
PG: Beasley

6th man: Kyle O'Quinn

for entertainment/tanking purposes at least

Beasley has the best handle, so he brings the ball up the court, and then dishes off to a high post of Willi or, option 2, Noah, since he has no passing ability and they do. Staps shoots 3s all day. Beasley isos. Kanter/Willi collects the misses underneath/post up. Noah enforces.

Not quite sure how they set about things on defence, but it can't be any worse than Hornaceck's actual defence. (30th in the league at defending the 3.)

idk, Wall is supposed to be out until mid-to-end of March for Washington. So maybe that's an option?
