Every team in the West might be drawing dead to reach the WCF except for the Warriors, Rockets, and Spurs.

Man, how spoiled are you when your best/2nd best player (and top 5 player overall) and 3rd best player (and top 30 player overall) go down, your team rides its other superstar to the tune of 6-0 ~+9 PD, and the fans response is "ya but they don't look is purrrrdy". Give me a break lol.

OKC is drawing dead to reach the WCF. Yes they have won 8/11 but their schedule has been favorable and they are barely beating those same teams that are drawing dead in their building. They have beaten DEN/MINN, at home, by a combined 5 points and beat a Kawhi-less SAS by 3, again at home. They also got smoked by a NYK D League team, smoked by the Hornets at home, and lost to Brooklyn in that stretch.

They aren't in the same stratosphere as Houston and Golden State right now, or SAS when Kawhi gets healthy. If anything it looks like they are about even with the teams that are drawing dead ITW, with Minny being the best of that next tier.

With that said, I don't think there is any chance OKC ends up in the 7/8 or even 6th spot. The breakdown of the West seems pretty clear right now:

1&2 - HOU/GSW

3 - SAS

4&5 - MIN/OKC - OKC has played the tougher schedule of the NW, they will leapfrog POR/DEN in short order

6-8 - POR/DEN/NOP - 7/8 is going to suck because it's a guaranteed thrashing over four games, the 6 spot here will be coveted.

9 - UTAH - I actually think Utah could make it but they will be so far behind after this brutal stretch of games that it might force Lindsay to do the right thing and try to get a better draft pick.

Definitely spoiled. I guess the takeaways are:

1) The gap between the Warriors and the rest of the league when the Warriors are at full strength and focused is enormous, even if we assume (probably correctly) that LeBron and Harden continue to be transcendent.

2) The aesthetics of the Warriors offense are largely attributable to Curry.

3) Like every other Warrior, KD benefits from having Curry on the floor. But even without Curry, KD continues to be an unstoppable and efficient offensive player.

4) The Warriors have a tremendous amount of defensive depth.

Just going to go back a few pages in the discussion and say that having OG outside your top 10 players under 23 is a massive leak

Looking at the list I posted I would slot him in 8th right now ahead of Capela, Harris, and Turner

What I would pay to be a fly on the wall of the planning of that robbery. "Alright guys, let's go over this one last time, masks? Check. Gloves? Check. Incredibly unique tools to unhinge and store a toilet? CHECK."
Not only that, but good toilets retail for $500-600 and weigh about 100 lbs. That's a lot of work for a heavy ass item that probably has a resale value of $50.

Last year Minnesotasam and others laughed at me when I said Jamal Murray has some Steph Curry/Dame Lillard vibes, citing Murray's pedestrian PER/TS numbers.

He's still 1 year younger than Steph's rookie year and 2 years younger than Dame's, but the numbers are starting to look a lot closer.

I don't think he will ever be Steph Curry, that's impossible, but I don't think it's a stretch to say he could end up in the Dame/Kyrie camp of all-star scorers masquerading as point guards. He already compares pretty favorable to rook/soph 22 and unders with an above average PER and Usage. Note some of their ages.

[edit] He also leads his team in net-rating and is second in on/off, so it's not like he's getting those numbers at the detriment of the team. That could be the most important part.

* Devin Booker should probably be on that list as well, he was so ridiculously young as a rookie that he should be considered a soph right now imo.

He looked great last night. Kid’s got skills.

(I still lol @ the Curry comments and do not recall it being Curry/Lillard.)

Yeah I wasn't calling you out specifically, just that the eye test and seeing the flashes can sometimes paint better pictures than the numbers suggest. I didn't think he'd be Steph so much as they'd have similar games.

I think I've had a similar leak with Booker, calling him overrated because of his lack of efficiency or winning, which was wrong given just how insanely young he is overall. I wonder if some of these weight high usage/middling efficiency the same as low usage/high efficiency similarly, because I don't think they should.

He's an incredible defender, showing to be an excellent shooter. Probably the best athlete in the draft class, has excellent vision too. He leads the NBA in Net Rtg and is currently 9th in +/- despite only playing 21 min a game. 20 years old and coming off an ACL injury too. Not having him top 10 shows you don't watch basketball or just don't understand it.
He's going to be a hyper mega elite role player with the potential too develop other parts of his game too
