This may be old news, but I found lolWindy's comments on LeBron on OTL today interesting. Nothing ground-breaking, but basically just that LeBron spends $1-1.5 million/year to care for his body, when you add up the hyperbaric chambers, liquid nitrogen treatments, personal trainers, etc. Some of it is referenced here:

doesn't really seem like much when his body is his livelihood and he probably easily clears 100M pre-tax. it's crazy though in an absolute sense but not much in a relative sense.

Tiger was even money to win some majors. And he’s currently the favorite for this years Masters. He’s top tier.

Federer also not getting nearly enough love. Dudes the GOAT with unprecedented longevity.

Serena basically has to be top tier unless your argument is lol women.

Capone,

Right, it's obv not much compared to his income and how much treating his body is worth.

The thing is, I doubt that most other NBA players spend anywhere near that much, even other high-earning players, or even middle-to-lower-earning players proportionately. I could be wrong about that, but have no idea how to verify.

Yeah Tiger and Federer are likely in the same bucket. It's hard to separate the super studs. Honestly, Phelps wasn't on their list and he's been a fixture of dominance but they added some qualifiers that made it impossible for him to make the dominance metric.

Tiger's literally won 25% of the events he's played

Competition was kind of weak for a lot of his tenure at the top but I know tiger won a lot in his prime.

I really wish that article actually detailed some of the stuff instead of just giving a very high level overview. I would legit buy a LeBron tb12 type manual because from everything I've seen/heard he's doing legit stuff. And he's obviously doing it right beyond luck/genetics.

Also can't believe that the Cavs make him do some of that stuff in the hallway with his private trainer when he's the only reason the entire organization isn't a total POS

JACK was the GOAT and he played in smaller fields against weaker competition and in his prime won a bit more than 15% which was historically amazing and something no other player ever came close to and now Tiger has won 50% more often. It's also worth pointing out how often Tiger would completely destroy his competition. He won the US Open by 15, the Masters by 12, British Open by 8, etc. etc.

One of my favorite bits:

I see HOU favored by 5 tonight in POR. These teams are a combined 24-1 since the AS break, should be good. Better be good.

At some point I should actually seek out tickets instead of just getting random free ones where I end up at games like MIA. This one is going to be intense.

That's quite impressive. I wonder what the best combined record in a matchup is (going back to the same starting date for both teams), in all NBA history.

Maybe during one of the Lakers' or Warriors' epic runs, they had to have faced a team that was also on a heater at the moment.

Sidenote: I'm kinda surprised that the Bulls' longest win streak was only 18. Would have thought it was longer.

When I was in 8th grade, the Lakers visited Portland, both teams with an 11 game winning streak, and pretty sure both had 43-11 records.

I cried when we lost. Lol

HOU POR just made me think of that game Brandon Roy buried a buzzer beater from 35 feet to beat Yao and TMac in a reg season game. One of the few just random reg season league pass games I remember. Most of the others involve Dre.

So that's 22-0, that's a contender, although there's probably better. The 66-22 or equivalent or better probably happens whenever the top 2 teams in the league face each other mid-season or later.

I think the Raps had won 9 when they snapped Houston’s 16 game (?) win streak two weeks ago
