Better than Hayward and Isaiah are both ridiculous. DD is rare in that he's a ball dominant player who can't shoot 3s. Those players are rare bc the league has correctly diminished their value.

I'm pretty sure I haven't heard this proposal before:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/1...-end-game-rule

It's mostly an attempt to get rid of all the end of game fouling. The article explains how the guy came up with it, who has seen it and considered it, what might happen if implemented, etc.

"eliminate the game clock from crunch time. Under Elam's proposal, the clock would vanish after the first stoppage under the three-minute mark in the NBA and the four-minute mark in NCAA games. Officials would establish a target score by taking the score of the leading team and adding seven points -- then restart the game without a clock. The team that reaches that target score first wins."

EDIT: After reading it I really wanted to see it implemented somewhere, like D-league, to see what happens.

And then there's a bunch of guys I didn't include that are at least close to DeRozans tier. So he's what, the 25th best player in the league at best? Gonna guess you and casual fan have him higher than that and he's still decently overrated.

As for Favors he's just been hurt all year, so not really fair to judge him on his performance this year. Also, overrated by who? Nobody talks about him being good outside this thread.
He's better than Horford, but Kemba is def better. Borderline top 30 seems correct.

That's wild and sound kinda amazing. Very original if nothing else.

Pretty legit by Harden. Sporting or Porto would be cooler.
04-05-2017 , 11:55 PM
Porto tainted by Mourinhaids

Sporting is legit - but Benfica-Eusebio is a classical great - think Celtics-Russell

Good article on defensive schemes. Bucks' in particular, whose scheme is extremely aggro. Also contrasts the Jazz, who run a very conservative scheme, and discusses strategic trade offs

@Thayer, I think my freeroll is going to come down to the final day.

i especially liked the video editing where theres a slight pause and the place he wants us to look is spotlighted and annotated.

I don't think DeRozan is even a top 5 SG or a top 30 player and possibly much lower on the latter. Would definitely have Harden, Middleton, Beal, Klay, CJ over him and possibly Batum and KCP as well.

Interestingly, those LeBron Heat teams that played so aggressively on defense only had to face good offenses in the playoffs once they made the Finals. Of their 12 Eastern Conference playoff opponents, only one ranked in the top 7 on offense.

I'm curious how you justify this. IT is way more efficient on the same usage, is better at creating for others, and his team plays significantly better when he's on the court (whereas the Raptors are worse in DDR's minutes).

Why would there be? All their players actually played in a nationally televised game with seeding implications and they played well.

Also no pathetic TT rim protection

ya thats what Im saying. a few days ago, the cavs were trash and incapable of such play. now its just ho hum, standard.
04-06-2017 , 12:38 PM
Per usual Lebron whipped it out and reminded the world why he's the GOAT. I suspect we have another cycle of "the Cavs look bad" before the finals.

I think they're in trouble once they get there, but he'll be massively freerolling by then.

This idea is too good, which means it probably won't happen.

This is why the pathetic cowardice of forming super teams in a super weak conference is such important context.

Getting out of the east is nothing to be proud of and when leloser gets to the finals, and actually faces competition, he gets sonned by role players (and the goat) over and over again.
