Drake hired him as a ghostwriter

Kawhi is a superlative player, but I wonder sometimes about his excessive shyness, seemingly both on and off the court, as it relates to titles. Most of these guys are such cutthroat types that when it comes to ripping the title from them, a trend may develop where this works against him and his team. I realize he was finals MVP, but he wasn't even close to the leader of that team. Not The Man. Last year was a bit of a weak exit for 65 win team (that could have won more). Gonna keep an eye on this. Shyness correlates more with also-rans than with champions. The pure barracuda/sharks - Jordan, Isaiah, Bird, Russell, Magic, Duncan - the hyper-competitive types seem to correlate with titles. Same in other sports. Some exceptions. When you're asking shy guy to take the title from coldblooded assassins ... I"m not so sure. And I'm talking mostly on court demeanor. Nothing shy about Bird, Russell or Duncan there ... though quiet off the court.

Less than 40% of my posts this year have been about them, down from about half last year. Both are greater than your ratio of sucky to mediocre posts.

Played tons of pokerz vs Laimbeer when he was coaching the Lynx. Dude was in the card room like 4 days a week. Total rock. I spiked my kicker vs his AK so many times.

Did he get mad? Seems like the type to shrug it off.

We're going to need the per-word advanced stat breakdown of your posts to accurately assess.

Oh when it comes to my team I'm a low efficiency chucker like Allen Iverson.

Yeah it's clear you have no defense for your posts.

I agree on Iverson though. I'd never want to build a team around him if my goal were to win a championship. I very much prefer selfless players, good defenders, high IQ ball movement, and efficient shots, and Iverson is the antithesis of those concepts.

Yeah, and have the Spurs ever had anyone like that in during their 5 championships in 12 years or whatever?

Seems to fit Popp's mold perfectly.

suppose embiid is only capable of playing 45-50 games per year, at reduced minutes (let's say 25 mpg), but is a top 10 player. what % of the cap is he worth

He basically never spoke. He took the beats pretty well, would typically sigh and roll his eyes and show that you 3-outed him yet again.

MLE if he can't play 2 play-offs game in a row

Was just looking at tankathon. Man, all these non-playoff teams are so bunched up. Think we're gonna see some epic tanking this year starting in like a week.

this shawn long guy that had a nice debut today for the sixers is a guy who was discussed in the draft thread here 2 years ago when elfrid payton was coming out. guy was putting up big counting stats (~30per) as well as being a good athlete who could kinda shoot

for whatever reason he got no real buzz and ended up going back to school for 2 years and then didn't get drafted. anyway here he is on a 10 day contract. he seems like a pretty sixers kind of pickup, because he's kinda like richaun holmes in that he's a productive athlete who has a hint of shooting ability - good mould to take a gamble on

Kawhi proved he's the real mvp last night, talk about domination.

I could have sworn I heard our 2p2 rapper rapping some car commercial a few months ago

Was listening to the Luke Walton pod and Simba mentioned the "how would Shaq work in today's NBA" thing. Said he couldn't remember where he read it, either an article or a message board or something. That was a pretty recent conversation here, right?

Hi Bill.

It's been a years long running joke that he reads this. One time (for the life of me I can't remember the poster or what thread it was in) someone here ran into him at a game and flat out asked him and he said he'd never heard of it. I don't believe him.

Yeah, I've seen people in SE mentioned over the years. Just thought it was funny he mentioned message boards specifically and that was discussed here so recently.
