I know a lot of that article is spot on, but I'm torn between feeling bad for Melo and the reality that he brought a lot of this on himself.
I think Melo said in the press he'd leave if it benefited everyone - if the management wanted to tear the team down (literally 'go in a different direction'). And yes, certainly, imo Melo isn't optimizing the team at the moment.

But the Knicks' real problems are Rose and Noah - both of whom Jackson organized over the summer.

Either way around it seems classless to me and if I was Melo it would make me say fu.

agree, think this is all calculated. decent chance he is trying to goad melo into requesting a trade

Pretty clearly this. Insult, disrespect, and agitate him into increasing destination list to include teams with actual assets. Unfortunately, it's hard to shame a self-centered player like Melo into leaving the Big Apple. He'll just keep cashing your checks, and Phil will be left trying to walk back these comments once trade deadline passes.

I don't think there is any method to his madness. Not like Melo is gonna flip out or anything. He's just a condescending *******.

I agree, I think his main issue is that he's a thin skinned egomaniac, insulting Melo is just a lucky side effect.

I don't see it's really even particularly self-centred for Melo to want to stay in NY.

These guys are all (presumptively) super rich. Where would you want to live - "work" stuff aside? And then the work stuff .. well, your work situation only improves in Cleveland or maybe with the Clippers. And Cleveland may feel like cheating.

Again, the Knicks' main problems aorn are Rose and Noah - and those are both down to Jackson. Rose can disappear at the end of the season, but has been responsible in large part for the KP's, Willi's etc of the team not getting the ball (and having a chance to develop even if they **** up frequently), but Noah is just ballast sinking the boat with his 72/4 contract and essentially no contribution.

Just in a super chatty / jovial mood. Usually pretty cold and non engaging at the table. 2/5/10 PLO

Show him the post calling him a rebounding whore

What kind of player is he? Does he 3-bet light on the button? Does he balance his triple barreling ranges well on monotone boards? Does he have a high c-bet frequency OOP or does he prefer to use a more defensive strategy?

Sees almost every flop. Plays poker nothing like basketball. Fairly typical passive / calling station. Can get aggressive in spots.

Heard a pretty funny hand from a few weeks ago in the local country club game. 30K pot. All in pre 5 ways. RWB scoops with pocket 9s. Unimproved.

Lol he just slow rolled the **** out of a guy. All in pre. 3 club board. Guy turns over Q high flush. Russ waits about 20 seconds and turns over K high. Never seen him do that.

Did the Blake griffin Carmelo trade happen yet?
02-08-2017 , 02:41 AM
you should tell him that betting flop turn and riv is called a "triple barrel"

Hearing ilbalka to the rockets. For their rookie and picks any chance of this. Ilbalka is a GREAT piece vs the warriors, would make that potential series very competitive

Why are the Grizzlies never mentioned in the conversation of teams that can knock off Golden St? They've already beaten Golden St twice this year. They play very good defense against the 3 ball and overall defense.

On offense they are a bit inconsistent but definitely capable and Gasol is a beast and very difficult matchup for Golden St.

don't think it's esp hard to explain away the woyas losses to the grizz as they relate to a playoff matchup. but generally speaking the grizz offense is very mediocre even if you account for the injuries

Grizzlies have a kind of high floor / low ceiling offense

They are rarely terrible in terms of execution, and Gasol/Zbo/Conley can create shots but they can't really go above 100 pts scored

Khris Middleton returns tonight! Bucks hype

And hibbert might debut!

don't get too heated, this team is coached by Jason Kidd

Listening to the duncdon trade deadline piece. I actually like all of the big trades that went through.

Melo to clippers seems win/win
Millsap to nuggets is win/win
Ibaka to Toronto seems win/win

Make it happen nba

What was the proposed Melo trade? What do the Knicks get back?
