Rudy and Nikola are similar in that they are absolutely elite on opposite sides of the ball, but you have to give the nod to the dude who plays more and is technically doing what's most important for his position.

I think Rudy starting in the ASG should be a given, as is him making first team All NBA.

As far as comparing the new bigs, it really isn't close when you look at the numbers, the two late-round Euros far outpace their more heralded counterparts.

AGE / PER / WS48 / BPM / RPM

Gobert 24 / 22.1 / .252 / +5.4 / +4.07
Jokic 21 / 23.4 / .215 / +6.4 / +4.05
Towns 21 / 22.3 / .146 / +2.9 / +1.27
Staps 21 / 18.8 / .126 / +.9 / +2.15
Embiid 22 / 23.0 / .092 / +2.2 / +.75
Turner 20 / 20.5 / .174 / +2.3 / +3.13
Jokic four > above Embiid is rough. Turner above him too

Dude is already 22 and can't even get his winshare game up to snuff, clearly needs more d league time.

Will definitely do that, Lee Jenkins wrote a long form piece on Giannis that I haven't gotten to yet: http://www.si.com/nba/2017/01/03/gia...eak-jason-kidd

been meaning to put together a list of good (non-Zach Lowe, Nate Duncan, etc.) Twitter follows that I like by team, I might do that tonight

CP3 side by a fairly wide margin. -8.5 or so

Should have went draymond instead of Marc Gasol draymond was his last pick

Would have ****ed him up so bad matchup wise but he wouldn't have acknowledged it so I gave in

lol, matchup wise? team a has the two best players itl, and 5 of the best 7 players in that game. Staps, DAJ, Draymond are the 3 worst players in that game. Wouldn't be close.
01-04-2017 , 12:45 AM
Obv it's not close regardless

I'm just saying if you go draymond at the 5 porzingis and desndre wouldn't be able to guard anyone it'd be more of a disaster for him

Just funny drunk Bball talk w my buddy that doesn't get it

2nd team is not well constructed

Team A by 15

What's up with this draft class? If Simmons busts are there zero all-star appearances possible? Likely?

Nah, I'd still take even money on one non Simmons all star appearance I think. Murray could be sick and there's a few other guys that are still drawing live to all star careers. Overall it's been a weakish showing for the rookies though.

Grizz got the most unexpected game outcomes on lockdown this season
01-04-2017 , 05:13 AM
I feel like I could nearly pick a better team than that second side from the undrafteds lol.

Giannis
Harden
Butler/PG
KLove
Gobert

If it's specifically to beat the first side could play both my SFs and cut Love.
01-04-2017 , 05:32 AM
K Thompson over harden there on your team

But ya I agree

I was actually thinking klay Thompson over chris Paul

Rudy>Jokic>>>Towns/Zinger/Turner>Embiid
Surely this is accounting for injury risk? Is it pretty much accepted by everyone that Embiid is a solid bet to be the best player itl in like 2 years?
01-04-2017 , 09:46 AM
Team A has Durant so team B.
01-04-2017 , 10:04 AM
Even without injury risk, it's hard to place Embiid too high

He's great, he has the tools, he still has lot of work to do to be a future elite offensive player, Towns was a better offensive player last year than Embiid is this year

Also, let's wait until he plays a full season, because clearly playing 30 minutes every 3 days is rigging the per36 numbers

Giannis was/is/will be >>>>>> Embiid at any point of their life
01-04-2017 , 10:11 AM
You need to be accounting for injury risk to put Embiid in a lower tier than Myles Turner. Turner is great but is he better than Jojo at anything?
01-04-2017 , 10:14 AM
What I can't evaluate about Embiid, is the % he goes full Demarcus Cousins, he has a big big mouth, he plays in a moronic franchise, he will probably play with trash players the next 4 years

Guy is great entertainer, but there's a decent chance he becomes a turd, locker room cancer and half-trying on the court

Good piece on Giannis in SI:

The first time Kidd benched him, Antetokounmpo was irate. “I was like, ‘Let’s see what this guy did in his career, anyway,’ ” Antetokounmpo recounts, and called up Kidd’s bio on his phone. “I saw Rookie of the Year, NBA championship, USA Olympic gold medal, second in assists, fifth in made threes, blah, blah, blah. I was like, ‘Jesus freaking Christ, how can I compete with that? I better zip it.’ ”
