Let's gogogogogo!

Steve Nash had a very good career. Seems like a good guy. He couldn't beat those Spurs tho.

I see the One Thread Coalition coordinated an early attack in an attempt to silence the debate before it even began.

I have filed an injunction with the mods on behalf of the Two Thread Party to prevent further posts on the subject until my fellow brethren arrive to join the discussion.

Bottom line for me: With one thread, non game discussion is stifled daily around 4pm PST and doesn't resume until the next morning. With two threads, no discussion is stifled for any period of time.

So one option stifles non-game discussion for damn near half of every day, while the other option doesn't stifle any discussion. Ever.

The choice is clear, yet we have posters who can't let go of the glory days of TZ and prefer to stifle discussion in favor of artificially inflating the post count itt. You know who else stifled discussion due to selfishness? The Nazis.

Just have one mega game thread.
10-25-2014 , 02:08 PM
Ya.

One game thread all season would be a fun place to pop in and drop some time relevant hot takes.

1) The Game Thread will be at the top of the forum every single day beginning around 4pm PST. If these people can't find that thread then they're ******ed and we're lucky to not have to read their "analysis" or "insight".

2) Having a million "LOL Byron Scott ZOMG!!" posts itt doesn't help create the highest ceiling for discussion. Game day thread type posts are the exact opposite of discussion. They're all one-liners pertaining to whatever game that person is watching.
10-25-2014 , 02:11 PM
I like a mega game thread. People can still post general thoughts about teams/players in this thread during games as long as there's content involved. Game threads just capture the no-content stuff.
10-25-2014 , 02:13 PM
One thread IMO reduces post count because people (like me) who don't have time seriously post and read TZ less due to overwhelming effort to wade through and get to the real discussion.

Also, despite those whining, every time game threads happen, it sure seems like the overwhelming consensus is that TZ is infinitely more readable.

Bobbo used to do a great job of quoting any game thread stuff that happened to be a nugget worth discussing and moving it into TZ. That's always an option for the one non-ebola comment a night.

This is definitely worth trying I think. One TZ is still much better than hundreds of game threads though if it comes to that.

Lebron's first game in Cleveland is going to be crazy
10-25-2014 , 03:38 PM
one thing simmons has said that I'm buying into is that Cleveland should have a massive home court advantage this year. He said that cleveland games would be a 'religious experience' level of crazy, and I don't think he's wrong. They had some GREAT crowds when Bron was there, and the hype is at a new level now with a much better team and a prodigal son story line. That crowd could be insane.
10-25-2014 , 03:46 PM
If they stay healthy, I don't think they'll lose. They are better than the last two-year's editions of the the Heat virtually everywhere.
10-25-2014 , 03:48 PM
I want Cleveland to struggle out of the gate like the Heat did in their first year (think they were 9-8 so "struggle" is of course relative) so we see how the fans/city react.

But I don't see that happening. Kyrie gonna go off this year methinks.
10-25-2014 , 03:52 PM
The city probably wouldn't care imo. Their son is back home and everyone knows he will figure it out.
