NBA Season Thread 2014-15 NBA Season Thread 2014-15

10-25-2014 , 12:57 AM
Behold! Friends, brothers, relatives, as always I have a treasure trove of secrets in store for you in the form of the upcoming NBA season. One to enjoy as the twists and turns unfold. This may well be one of the more surprising season in memory.

Memories. The Heatles got not 8, not 7, not 6, but 2..............2 out of 4 chances. Instead, it was these guys

Change was brewing. Of course, one of the bigger changes was The Return. The Return of my earthly form to the court. However, be not fooled, luggage can weigh considerably more than it looks

But more on the team that a part of me plays for later. There is another return. One that at least one person never thought would happen

Well, another person had something else in mind.

Excited to play with the #1 pick. A dynasty in the making

But alas, it would be the shortest dynasty ever. But if indeed all you need is love, love, love is all you need, then this team is preaching My good word indeed

Somehow though, the defending champs seem not so concerned

But these are the obvious storylines dear friends, and as we look around, we see that possible surprises lurk all over

Can a summer stint for Team USA get a former MVP up to speed?

What about a TZGM force from up north?

Will these key additions in New York City make a difference?

Wait, wrong NYC team, wrong year. Foresight becomes complicated sometimes. Will these key additions in New York City make a difference?

And there's The Other Return. The return home of one of Miami's legends:

Wrong legend? Eh, ok.

Forgetting the other Miami legend, what about the real legend. The living legend.

Yeah, that's a legend. However, his coach may lead to a legendarily awkward season. Blame me for bowing out?

Yeah, one of those teams may have a slightly better shot this year. I suspect it's the team with this guy:

Though really, it sure feels like it won't be long before we all are looking excitedly at the team with this guy

But the past and the future do not touch the present. And the present is being questioned now more than ever in Oklahoma City, where for the second straight year, a star begins the year on the bench

Meanwhile, other teams with multiple stars are ready to take their shot. Can these guys live up to expectations this year?

Or will the team that beat them grow together and take a step forward

If they do, it'll be without one of their key running mates, who has found a new group to make music with

And while I am biased in favor of my own LA team, the other LA team looks very imposing, as evidenced by the last ever team photo taken under the ownership of Donald Sterling:

And I know you thought I forgot.....never forget to grind

Indeed, storylines abound! I shall not spoil it for you my friends, but I promise the season will delight. But be not presumptuous as to the ultimate outcome, for doubt will creep in your mind throughout. Overconfidence can lead to one's downfall. Sit back, relax and enjoy. I am going to get a burrito, chill out and catch some waves.

Let us NBA!

No Blatche this year is truly sad.

Wish Gallo nothing but good health, and am confident he will take care of the rest.

GOAT OP for GOAT sports regular season, hoping i can put together a mini-season preview over the next few days.

IN!

Anyone think weekly game threads would be worth a try this year? This thing gets hard to follow when you want to talk happenings around the league but have to scroll through 200 "DAME!" posts or want to talk about the upcoming Blazers-Clippers matchup but have to scroll through 700 posts between Team Love and Team lolLove.

Season is dedicated to Kobe's great career. Lets start the 2+ Respect tour now.

In.

Think Portland will have a great season unless there are injuries to their starting lineup.

once more, i think gameday threads are fairly lame.

-i think haulting any in game discussion itt keeps people who only subscribe to this thread from giving in-game analysis or their random insight. basically, imo, keeping it all in one thread creates the highest ceiling for discussion and differing opinions.

-skipping the in-game filler is REALLY REALLY EASY. you read the posts for the night, or the afternoon, or whenever the **** you last read it. then you skip the posts that are during the time games are on and scroll to a post that resembles non in-game ****. rinse & repeat for next time you open the thread.

agree with this. i dont see a point in having week to week or day to day game threads, save that for the playoffs. most in game commentary is 2-5 words anyways, most often including "lol xxx". discussion that evolves off of all of that is pretty good, imo.

+1 for having in-game posts in here. I like having a one-stop thread for all my NBAing needs

didnt have a chance to reply to you in the offseason thread, so which other lines did you want to bet? (so we can add 1 more to the twolves)

also, 50$ seems fine for me
