It's all over. Dream is dead. Durant and West will never win anything. RIP Green.

How can a coach think Mack fits this lineup better than Ingles?

Green & Durant's rim protection is insane. So many times guys get to good spots and they defend it so well.

Think the Jazz def can be encouraged though. I mean they just outscored the Warriors 87-82 over 3 quarters in GS. Gobert didn't play close to as good as he could, Ingles/Hood shot terribly, Shelvin Mack existed, etc. They're not winning this series but I think they'll win a game in Utah.

Mack must've got on the +12.5 before it went up after he was named the starter

If you think they're gonna get a game in Utah then it probably has to be game 3, game 4 is Cancun if they get down 3-0.

Think GS is probably like -4 there (they were 6 at Port but KD didn't play)

Maybe Durant did too? That ending was ridiculous.

Fwiw I really don't think the Jazz should spring to re-sign George Hill.

With Gobert on the back end, they can afford to give up a little on D for more offense. They need a PG that can really score like many of these other playoff teams have. Joe Johnson becoming their #1 option in the playoffs probably isn't ever happening again.

If they could get their hands on an IT or Lowry or a poor version of those guys (Kemba Walker?) who can really score it would probably be a much better fit.

Defense is important, but sometimes you just need someone who can drop 25 and create. And Hill isn't gonna come cheap it looks like (although I'll believe he gets 4/100 when I see it)

there are a handful of guys that average 25, Hill averaged 17

He is the "glue guy".

Plus he recruited AND landed Durant, that instantly makes him MVP of the team imo.

i've said this before the season began and it seems obvious to me every time I watch them play, if there's any chance of beating this team it's because they're clearly not being the best team they could be with this roster. Just play Durant like a filthy rich man's Barnes and let Curry be Curry
It's not really about Durant imo. Last year even with Barnes, Curry was frequently being played off ball and it was to everyone's detriment because he was getting doubled/held/etc for free. You can def find some posts from me last year during the OKC series and also in the finals wanting Curry initiating the sets more and playing more pnr.

That said, I don't agree with settling for using Durant like Barnes. Just want a significant reduction of plays where Curry does not start the play. The ball will find Durant and whoever else

edit: i do like curry playing off ball as it obv gets them lots of easy buckets, but yeah

yeah they don't grow on trees but they're growing a little more lately, seems like you can maybe find someone like that to pair with Hayward and give you a better offense.

I dunno, I think this team maxes out pretty fast w/ Hill. Need a little more offense.

But I concede it is easier to say that and providing realistic options to go in that direction is more difficult.

Your #1 doesn't have to be a PG. Hayward can absolutely be that guy. Remember Favors should be 100% by then too. Hill was so good this year as a secondary creator/spotup shooter defending the other teams best guard and is such a good fit in general I don't see how you justify getting rid of him.

If you rly want more creation for the jazz then you'd prob prefer for them to get a 6th man type scorer off the bench
