What are we betting? LOL @ the switch, he can't play defense by himself and while that lineup change worked nicely last night... having Love and Kyrie sit entire fourth quarters is not going to lead to long term success against stronger opponents

Their defense is still a huge gaping problem. Woyas in 5, exactly where we were headed last year before the Dray suspension changed the series flow.

The Bucks have Giannis play PG on offense and PF on defense

There are very few things that matter less than whether Patty Mills is a PG or a SG

Bet the house on the welps. Rondo brought the boards and a pass first mentality to brutal isobulls.

Yeah, Cavs winning by 5 every game against a ****ty team means they are favourite to rang

Like Always they'll be 95% to reach finals, because east sucks and they'll have 30% chance against the west team

Overrall that's obviously the 2nd highest title shot, but they still sucks really hard for a team that includes Lebron, they still have only 1 positive defensive player, and they'll still be the underdogs whatever finals we get

This lol Eastern since Lebron joined the league, is a big reason why MJ vs Lebron is still at debate

Thankfully the bulls have the guy they traded for [taj gibson + the guy they traded two first rounders for in 2013] to play backup PG

The Cavs roster isn't ****, though, Lue is just a godawful coach.

Nothing has convinced me that Spo is a great coach better than what Lue has done with unquestionably better supporting casts, Spo only asked Lebron to turn on god mode when absolute necessary but Lebron god mode is the only offense that the Cavs know how to run.

The Lebron needs more help narrative is just so bizarre, he has 2 All Stars and like a perfect selection of role players. One rebounder, one floor general backup PG, a defensive specialist guard, and then everyone else is an elite shooter.

While the West has always had better teams, the Big 3 Celts and the Pistons title teams were hardly frauds. Not his fault Bulls with Rose and Thibs were overplay regular season frauds. Orlando couldn't stay good with D12 and keep him happy.

But it does suck for the WC you had the Spurs with Pop/Duncan for an extended period of time. Lakers with Kobe and Phil for a while. OKC with their big 3 and now GSW with their big 3/4. Dallas with Dirk. Only team/guy that seems to get ****ed every year is LAC and Cp3.

East only super LOL at the end of the Jordan era--Kidd's Nets and Iverson making the finals were so ****ing bad.

If you distort things too far, positions have no meaning. But hey, positions don't really have any meaning so it's fine. (no sarcasm)

But what is a stretch 5? Are they not a center because they're not playing in the post? They're a stretch 5 because they defend centers.

Not sure I agree with this. Heat had a bunch of 2 way players. Cavs don't. However, cavs guys are in their prime and the wade redundancy was an inefficient allocation of resources

But I wouldn't equate cavs success to head success. They're one nut swipe away from their greatest accomplishment being crushing Kent Bazemore

It's like the exact opposite of the (also erroneous) narrative of his first run with the Cavs.

Not sure how I feel about Bulls being able to overcome Rondo injury, he was really cooking IT out there. A lot of Portis offense in game 1 and Lopez in game 2 came off that.

Jerian Grant just kinda sucks offensively and Butler/Wade increased usage vs Bradley/Smart/Crowder should make the Bulls offense worse.

1st home game maybe guys step up but it's definitely a legit loss.

In modern NBA, defensively there's 1 primary ball handler defender 3 Wings 1 Roll/Rim Protector. Offensively there's a primary ball handler, a secondary Ball handler, 2 shooters and a roll man.

If a player doesn't excel in one role on offense and 1 role on defense, he will probably suck

Right now it still happens that the smallest guy is called the PG but in 5 years that position will be non existent for player <6"4 or without insane length, and super talented short guys like steph will just chill all game long on taller outside shooters, before disappearing like 6"9/6"10 slow PF extinguished recently

The near future of NBA is positionless, 4 guys between 6"5 and 6"8 (+ long athletic freaks like KD/Giannis that will be uberdominant) and a 7 footer

There's a possibility that the amazing PG draft class we have will turn flat in 5 years because the position will change

Coaching and GMing is going to be really really important in the next 10 years, to build the correct roster and manage the rotations
