So the Celtics weren't willing to offer 3years $60 or does he think he can even get more than that? It feels like this offseason for the Knicks to overpay for good but not great players as always.

Celtics would go 3 years. He wants 4.

Given he gave up $30 million for one season, he's definitely hoping to do much better than $60 for 3. Had he just played out the season, he certainly would get better than $30 for 2 after next season (barring terrible injury).

Sounds like he's getting 4 years/100m deal from someone.

If he gets that i'm scratching my head at NBA teams. NBA players fall off hard in their late 30's no matter how good their diet & excercise routine is.

That's the price for getting him before he falls off.

It's fine if you don't. Just takes one.

They also HAVE to spend the money. What is it, 90% of the cap?

So if you don't get a good player, with the back-end downside, you end up paying for worse players anyway.

Why would Memphis want any of those things they got back.

Crazy to me that 67M for age 32-33 Conley is a positive asset now. He was looking like dead money a year ago.

And 2 years ago TZ had Jae Crowder as a top 20 asset

Best asset ITL Jae Crowder kicked around like the scrub he is. What’s he got now, 3 years left?

Seems like an awful lot to give up for a 31-year-old PG. Memphis definitely clearing the roster to start Ja and they can get another building piece with the 23rd pick. Random big guy? Brandon Clarke? The 3 players are meh but Korver and Crowder might be on expiring contracts so they can free up more money next year.

Utah worth a 40:1 to ship flyer?

Seems like a good move for both teams. Utah's not getting top FA's so slightly overpaying for a top-PG in a trade is a smart move. Conley is expensive, but at least the contract ends about the same time as his prime. Also, with West wide open, seems like a good time to push some chips and go for it.

None of the assets Memphis is getting are great, but this way they can go full tank this year, keep top-6 pick and then have cap room next year when they have to give up unprotected pick. Also, Grayson has some upside and maybe Crowder regains form and they can flip him midseason for another asset.

This is a great trade for Utah, no clue why people would hate it, Conley is 10x better than Rubio and i expect them to get a lot better. I hope the Jazz still has enough to trade for Hayward; Favors + Exum for Hayward one time please.

I didn't realize Rubio is free.

Interesting to see what his market is going to be. Is a starting job definitely out there for him?

Phoenix seems like it would be a good fit. Crazy the solid that James Jones threw the Heat taking Tyler Johnson.

Now, if Tyler Johnson declines 19M imma freak.
