I think we're on the same page except I am merely arguing that GSW only ruined the league for 2-3 years and not 5.

They could have but didnt. They should have maxed him as soon as his fourth year concluded, but instead they made him get his own deal from Cleveland I mean Charlotte. Denver should have offered Jamal a max at the end of this year or even before the end of extension eligibility, I just don’t think the first day of free agency is it.

The Euro season is also way easier (think about half as many games) and maybe he just wants to be close to home.

No one in his position has ever chosen to ignore the NBA (a player that is pretty damn good! there have been a bunch who aren't quite as good who opted to return to EU rather than stay as a bench player or w/e) so it IS weird, especially even in a best-case scenario he's leaving the equivalent of 10m or so on the table, but it's his life. He's still making a bunch of millions of dollars and its his choice. Most would've returned to the NBA, but maybe he wants to be the ~best overseas player rather than a guy who isn't even in the top ~50. I want to believe MOST would rather have the better challenge, but he is an exception I suppose.
He may also detest living in America, which is a pretty weird place at the minute, particularly for a European!

So what is Boogie doing?

Dallas/LAC/LAL/Knicks only teams with over 15m in cap. Think we can rule Dallas/NYK out. Lakers seems doubtful, Clippers if they don't get Kawhi?

Someone could probably steal him for a 2/20 1+1.

Is that even a steal? Jeebus he was atrocious in the finals.

So let me get this straight: Charlotte would rather pay 19M for Terry Rozier than 38M for Kemba? Milwaukee would rather pay 9.5M for George Hill than 20M for Brogdon?

"NBA analyst Chris Broussard is all over the place right now.

It's no surprise to anyone that the hours leading up to NBA free agency were going to be absolutely wild. However, Broussard's timeline of contradictory tweets is a little out of hand."

"Broussard went from reporting that Kevin Durant was going to the Brooklyn Nets, to Durant returning to Golden State, back to him signing with Brooklyn. We're not sure who his sources are, but they're keeping him in the dark."

Boogie going to LAL.

Not justifying that Rozier deal at all but probably works out better for them in the long run paying him 3/58 rather than 5/200 for Kemba. Team was screwed next 2 years anyway and now they can atleast attempt to tank and he'll be expiring after that.

They can actually tank now instead of win 37 games every year. And Kemba's deal would likely be very negative in 3 years.

I feel like Bucks must think Brogdon is damaged goods. Or their owners are just really, really cheap.

Interesting hypothesis but I hope not, they are a really likable team.

Lakers should just take Goran into cap space if they whiff on Kiwi

from a pure value perspective, 5/170 seems like a bad deal for either brown or jamal murray for a team with championship aspirations.

might be fine if you're looking to compete regularly, insofar as it helps prevent a team from overpaying scrubs, and there are also certain reasons a GM might do it if a player is popular with the team / fans.

Is it the Butler sign and trade which makes it possible for the 76ers to sign Horford? Is there some allowance in the cap rules which allowed it or do the 76ers just have the space for Horford with Butler and Redick gone?
I think there are only like three teams left with space to take on salaries from Miami. Miami trying to dump salaries for free. They are going to have to pay.

Why would Memph even buy iggy out? You can deal Iggy for salary/pick.

I.e Iggy for Meyers Leonard/Hood or something
Broussard just cribbing lebron’s dream journal.

Pels should sign Favors on a good 2 year deal and build the most efficient team around Zion to get the midst Ws in the 'ext 2 season

In 2021 they will be on the market for a top FA then Favors and Reddick who'll both be old might take the super discount to play on a contender

Jazz off-season is insane they fixed all their problems (PG who can shoot, 2 offensive weapon to unload Mitchell usage and a stretch 4 next to Gobert in a week).

Yeah, Rubio and Favors don't at all fit with Gobert and they exchanged them for pieces that do fit.

I think we all need to be more excited about a freed Rubio running the Fun and Gun with kids again. Losing 135-125 is still fun imo.

Jazz surround Gobert with 4 shooters

Pacers surround Rubio with 4 shooters

I got Boogie going back to the Warriors for the small amount of raise that they can give him on a 1+1 w player option.
