Are people really not aware that AD probably would have signed with Lakers in a year anyway? The Lakers traded all those assets for 1 year of AD.

You are projecting what you 'want' to happen. Not what is actually going to happen.

That trade kicker gets waived for Kawhi if Kawhi knocks on the door. End of story.

Took you 3 days in your LeBron hate cave to finally come up with this take? Weak.

Shimmy is a hater, but not all of the "LAL are a FO full of ****-ups" crowd are LBJ haters. Some of us are just stating the obvious, that they dug themselves into a hole of desperation so much that they lost all their leverage.

I have literally been saying this since AD made the announcement.

I think the belief, and I agree, is the Lakers could not just hold open a max slot for a year with LeBron there. So it becomes harder, albeit not impossible, to sign him as a fa. Plus some other team might trade for him and win his heart.

FO is doing absolutely fine regardless of drama.

If you told me 365 days ago that within a year Lakers will end up with AD, lebron, kuzma and the potential to add 1 more max player in free agency... there's nobody that would have believed that story.

Well here we are. They are 1 Kawhi signing away from potentially being as strong as any all time great team.

yeah, if it wasn't the lakers with their recent track record you would feel better about how they round out their team. Guess we'll know soon enough.

They certainly have a lot of fragility to them with LeBron's age, AD's health, uncertainty with coaching, front office, nobody else on the roster besides Kuz.

The Lakers have made nothing but mistakes for nearly half a decade, and I'm not sure if Kawhi signing a deal for less than his max is something you want to rely on.

The Nets ended up with Paul Pierce and KD for a bad contract in Gerald Wallace... THAT'S a deal. Or maybe context matters.

Cavs have made nothing but mistakes too and got bailed out by LeBron and then Love wanted to go play with Bron and 4 straight finals later.

In the NBA, who you get to play with and where you are located geographically matters more than FO stupidity. Jeannie Buss is an idiot owner? Who cares, you get to play with Bron, AD... where do I sign?

28 other teams would love to clear the entire deck AND coaching staff and trade it with LA's situation, including the rockets.

Given the last several months, I’m not sure how much credit you can give the FO. If I win the lottery and become a multimillionaire it doesn’t make me a savvy investor.

I am saying front office matters a lot less when all players can see is playing with Bron and AD. They are rolling with it.

Even after the entire FO debacle, AD still begged his way to LA.

Thats the NBA.

At the same time we can acknowledge that the Bucks/TOR FO did work.

Do players want to play with LeBron? I guess this off-season is going to be a good barometer of that.

Pelicans did really well considering the situation, especially all the reverse protection on the picks.

Put the question in context I think, do guys wanna play with LeBron in general? Ehh, it depends. In cleveland? Probably not. In LA? Yeah for the most part.

And I think guys definitely want to play with AD.

But if trade gets executed on July 6th instead of 30th and AD doesn't waive his trade kicker then I don't see how they can field that good of a supporting cast.

Are there any good defensive wings they could sign that aren't max guys?

FA list....Dan Green, Marcus Morris, Ariza, Avery Bradley, W3s Matthews, Lamb, Beverly, KCP, George Hill (and yes I realize some of these guys haven't been that good on D in a few years but obviously Lakers options are thin so I threw them in too)

So not a ton to choose from.

The play is probably to max a Butler/Middleton if you can get that room and figure the rest after.

Fwiw Morris is a klutch client and maybe his bro would go there with him on a 1yr prove it deal as well.

It really seems like Pels are going to dictate when the trade goes through and cost LA 4m in cap space. Once this happens then LA can't get a max guy then AD probably takes his 4m and they're gonna be thin.

And oh yeah, their GM is kindof an idiot and signing max guys that want to go to LA is probably the only way he can effectively get good players.

With the haul LA gave you would think they could tell Pels take it or leave it but guess they're just too pot committed at this point?

Bojan Bogdanovic is a nice two-way player. Shot 42% on 4 3PA per game last season. I'm pretty sure he's guarded LeBron in the past. He just finished a two year 21M contract.

I think I would give him 3/54 and hope he takes it. Would be a good fit on the Laker's but he's probably out of their price range.

Any talk out there on what Bog is expecting to get paid?
