Embiid is gigantic

Ind messed up not trading George at the deadline. Now they have no leverage.

Is George really going to be able to get the Cavs past the Warriors?

no I disagree. I think kyrie plays fine alongside lebron. he can actually move well off the ball.

he needs to work on his defense tho. there is no reason that he cant be a better defender. he has the size and athleticism and bball iq. hes just lazy it seems.

It's possible; who knows who the Warriors will keep the next 2 seasons after their big 4. If they have to give up Kyrie or Love, I would say nope.

so no one is talking about the celts absolutely ripping the sixers off? cololololangelololo

Pretty sure it's impossible to tell if they have yet. Definitely a chance they fall flat on their face but a chance this is the core for a run in a few years; if they don't hit gold here; they still have their next years pick and either the Lakers or Kings pick to try to bink as well as flipping their other young assets.

Not if they get George.

Love has to be involved right? If so a lot of that hinges on LeBron's willingness to switch to embrace his transition to a Karl Malone type. George is a huge upgrade from Love vs specifically the Warriors as all of a sudden their worst defender turns into an elite wing defender capable of of the versatility/switchability you need. They could throw multiple good defenders at Durant and save LeBron some energy. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs are worse in a vacuum, as they would need time to adapt and Love is really good, but if George can be had for Love+pick I don't see how pass it up. Still underdogs vs GS, but they'd at least have a better shot.

Wonder if George would even want to go to Cle tho.

Might rather be the man in LA rather than be LeBron's sidekick.

Pretty sure the next Cavs 1st they can trade is 2021.

If you replaced Love with Paul George at the start of last season -- and the Cavs acquired PJ Tucker at the deadline instead of Korver -- they would have been the favorites over the Warriors.

I am the biggest Bryan Colangelo hater that exists -- but, in no way did he get ripped off. I think it was a fair deal for both teams.

How do you figure? Like I like the Cavs, but the Warriors I think would clearly be the favorite. They still have 4 all-nba level players to 3 and a better bench.

The Cavs had no issue scoring on the Warriors. Their problem was stopping them in transition and on defense. They have no + perimeter defenders besides Lebron. Paul George replacing Kevin Love is a huge upgrade on defense and a decent upgrade on offense as well. They would be able to switch every screen.

The Cavs might have had a better chance if Kevin Love didn't see the court. He is that bad defensively.

Kevin love was an excellent and better scorer than George as a number one option. George isn't even that amazing as a number one option offensively with no one else on the pacers fighting for usage. On the cavs like love he'd be third option and I'm not sure if he can handle that role that well. Love is also a better three point shooter which seems to be paramount when playing the four with bron.

I'm not sure if drat is a great stat any means but love had the best one on the cavs starting lineup in the playoffs. Loves drat is also the best by far in the finals on the cavs.

Why do you say Love is a better 3PT shooter? George is slightly better for his career and over the last three years. Love also gets better looks for his 3s than George (Love almost never takes 3s off the dribble and takes alot more corner 3s). Assuming George were willing to take Love's role on offense, I expect him to outshoot what Love has done for Cleveland but a decent bit on 3s.
06-18-2017 , 11:48 PM
Whoops should have double checked the stats, I thought love was a better 3 point shooter than he is. Obviously for a true 4 his 3 point numbers are sick but not in general.

I haven't analyzed everything but why aren't George's stats better? In fact his defensive stats have really lapsed over the last few years but I'll assume it's as his usage went up couple with his injuries.
06-19-2017 , 12:03 AM
Would think Portland would be trying to swoop in for Paul George considering they have 3 1st rounders, can throw in Crabbe/Harkless or something and then have a year of trying to convince him to stay. Not sure the Pacers are going to get much more somewhere else.
06-19-2017 , 12:09 AM
Are we sure pg13 is even an elite defender anymore? His numbers certainly don't back that up. The world seems to have turned on Love like he's some scrub but he's quite good, but yeah against GSW the swap would be good in theory.
06-19-2017 , 12:19 AM
George's defense will be better on Cleveland as a 3rd scoring option compared to Indy wheres hes getting the most usage.
06-19-2017 , 12:21 AM
He won't be a cav
06-19-2017 , 12:21 AM
It's hard to properly rate PG because he DGAF. He'd be great on the Cavs though

Lakers got em by the Ball(s)

I would like to see PG13 teamed up with Dame.

I don't think LeBron is going to trade KLove. He's part of the crew for now.

All things considered I say PG13 is traded to the Lakers for 20-25 cents on the dollar on draft night.
