He's already been in the league.

Pitino took two swings too.

He does realize NBA is a much different game then the one he abuses right now with the 1 and done rule. Guy is not an amazing Xs and Ys coach but plays the rules well.

He would have to adjust to paying players within a salary cap though.

Cal to the sixers and waxes Brad for a decade

It's far less different than we like to think imo. I liked the 'trained chef' analogy posted but think it works in Williams' favour a bit more. All well and good to tell a pro chef his steak tastes terrible, goes less well if you give him pointers on how he could have made it better.

Like imagine being a pro NBA'er and being told by some stats nerd something along the lines of "You need to take less long twos and more layups/dunks/threes". Like, we're right, but his reaction is obviously "do you know how easier said than done that is? do you know how ridiculously hard it is to even get off a 30% long two against an NBA defence?"

I dunno his take is still pretty lol but I guess I can just understand his frustration

And who is nowadays? With 300 Genders to choose from, it's so hard to find the right one.

Saying "there's nothing else to do" is ******ed. "Not giving Chris Paul $41 million per year for ages 33-37" does indeed count as something to do.
Harden is an unrestricted free agent in 2020 (age 30 season). Does he re-sign if the rockets haven't acquired any other stars? Who else do they have a shot at if they didn't pick up CP3?

Apparently not as hard as you think? Look at the Rockets short charts with Morey.

Matters how much he cares about perception about his legacy. If he doesn't win titles/MVPs/etc. he could try and win one somewhere.

In a few years, Philly/Boston/Milwaukee or some other team could need his services to take them over the edge.

He'll only be ~31 by 2020 and he can obviously stick with the big $$$ in Houston. At least they've shown they are willing to gamble and snipe stars from other squads.

Debatable. I'd still favor the Spurs to be better. Especially given they're probably going to find a way to improve too.

Spurs had a +7.6 ortg/drtg differential. Rockets were +5.7. 61 wins vs 55 wins . And of course Spurs crushing them h2h in the playoffs.

Again literally every single disagreement comes down to, in my opinion, how much many of you are overrating CP3's impact going forward.

I feel really really confident I'm right about this and would love to get more bearish bets down against Houston.

If it was easy they'd all look like that. I think too many people think of it things in a "why dont more teams just do what the rockets do" kinda way when they should be thinking "wow its amazing what the rockets are able to do"

This frees up enough cap to offer Austin Rivers a max contract? At $12m/year he is sorely underpaid.

It's not truly NBA offseason until there is a Cal to NBA rumor

Might be PG13 related? Old teammates and there's no way that PG13 settles to be 3rd banana, so if you've already got LeBron and a secondary offence guy George Hill is like the perfect person to have as your point guard.

If that's the only move they make I think it's a downgrade though, unless they think Love is up for a much bigger offence role and would be better at it than Kyrie.
06-29-2017 , 11:42 PM
irving would be a nice get for the jazz. cavs must really think lebron is leaving if they would do that deal. also iirc the sixers have had rockets-esque shot carts throughout much of the process. a lot of it prob comes down to getting players who tend to take those kinds of shots or are coachable enough to alter their shot selection. it's also doesn't automatically translate to good offense
06-29-2017 , 11:47 PM
Can pg lebron and love all play at the same time? Only if lbj is the rim protector?
06-29-2017 , 11:47 PM
George Hill is better than Irving so good move.

I don't think there is any way they can get PG and not lose Love.

I'm saying LBJ + PG + GH > LBJ + PG + KI, but im not sure LBJ + KL + GH > LBJ + KI + KL

I think George hill gets hurt to much to be more valuable than Kyrie in pretty much any capacity
