I love Iggy but no way should he be a HOFer. Not that the bball HOF matters but
06-16-2017 , 03:23 PM
Cedric maxwell isn't in the hof and won finals mvp. The issue is the aren't many players with as poor of career as iggy who won finals mvp. Honestly I think he's the worst. The list is basically a bunch of first ballot hofers and a few guys who snuck in to win the finals mvp but that list is quite small.

They never get discussed much on here, probably because they never do anything stupid or flashy - but looking at the Spurs on Sportrac, their situation is kind of perfect. Competitive now, with room to manoeuvre this year and the ability to tear it all down at the end of next year and rebuild around Kawhi. It's kinda the dream scenario.

Except there are the warriors.

Ah yeah, but they're a golden unicorn. In the reams of what you can expect to achieve normally with good acquisitions and roster management they're in an excellent position.

Manu should be a lock.

yeah - I'ld be pretty happy to get money in on Manu at 0.2 right now even with the wait until he's eligible.

Sixers getting Medical info for Fultz, very deep talks for trading up to the #1 pick for the #3 pick + future picks.

Also Favors is my draft-day veteran likely to be moved.

A long time ago the warriors drafted a big with some question marks. He was old when drafted, not a great scorer but decent passer, and a question about what position he could guard. In the NBA his PER was poor but he did well in +-. He helped propel the Warriors on their upward trajectory when...

... he was traded for Andrew Bogut.

Ekpe Udoh is now 30 and had a good season in Europe. He's looking to return to the NBA. 6'9" and can switch on the PNR looks a lot more useful now so some contender should give him a look.

dubs will need to find a rotation big somewhere. mcgee is almost certainly cashing out, looney keeps getting hurt/has played poorly, damien jones spent most of the year in the d-league

edit: though who knows what the market for mcgee will be. thought speights would also cash out, but he got the min i think? imagine teams will want mcgee more though

McGee was pretty ******g amazing in his ten minutes a game. If Mozgov got paid last year, have to imagine he'll make a few quid.
06-16-2017 , 07:51 PM
I hope Livingston gets paid. By my reading of the CBA FAQ the Warriors could sign & trade Livingston to a team over the cap but under the apron. It could be a way to get a rotation big for more than the minimum.

I'm looking at the blazers salaries. What were they thinking?

OK, sure:

26M Lillard 4 years
24M McCollum 4 years

a lot of money for players who don't matter:

18.5M Crabbe 3 years
17M Turner 3 years
10M Leonard 3 years
10M Harkless 3 years

at least it's over soon:

7M Aminu 2 years
8M Ezeli 1 year
6M Ed Davis 1 year

Total is 137 this year, 120 next year.

Nurkic will be RFA after this year, that's going to be quite a tax bill.

Dumping one or two contracts doesn't even help. What a mess.

I dunno, K-holes aren't the greatest.
06-16-2017 , 10:19 PM
Not necessaerily true for everyone, but I would agree that k-holing can be dangerous, yes.

Crabbe has a 15% trade kicker too. If he gets traded he'll be making about as much as Kevin Love, who's on his 2nd max.

I doubt Mcgee has much of a market. The Mozgov thing was a flukey aberration type deal. Everyone said it was awful at the time.

McGee probably gets like 3/25 if he is lucky. He had a nice year in limited minutes for the Warriors but most teams are still going to be leery of him.

Step one has to be fire whoever got them into this mess.

How would the wolves feel about trading Rubio now? What are they looking for?

don't think the mozgov deal was an aberration. look at the awful blazers contracts being discussed on this page for example. don't think mcgee is getting much, but all it takes is one team, etc.

Lets not forget they tried to max Kanter. They probably have the best bad Gm or worst good Gm depending on how you look at it. They did have a shot at the championship that one year before aldrige left
