I went over it earlier how the Celtics can't really acquire George and Hayward without getting rid of Horford and is there really a market for Horford @ $28M+ over the next 3 years?

I mean they could technically do it, but they wouldn't have any assets left beyond the starting lineup, wouldn't have a PF or a SG on the roster, and would have 0 rebounding since you're relying on Horford to grab them all. Would have to sign an entire bench lineup to minimums besides Rozier, Smart, Jaylen. Oh, and they definitely couldn't extend George with their cap space in this situation either if they were to acquire Hayward (unless they mean agree to a contract that would be signed next offseason).

They're not winning it next year anyways. Don't they still have a ton of draft assets in this scenario. Wouldn't they get something in return for horford or would it be a scenario receiving just picks or cash?

Haven't you seen other teams like the warriors or cavs get vet guys on the cheap if they can contend?

Can Hayward, George or Tatum play 2 or 4? Seems silly to trade for George if someone can't play the four.

cp3 in any PNR system with shooters is gonna be fun to watch, harden got totally gassed in the playoffs and likely prefers sharing the load for a future playoff run.

if any of it makes little sense to me, it's how they would scheme defense in the playoffs. seems like patbev (v good d) and ryno (underrated d) being used as trade bait means you're getting some funky defense lineups.

Beverley is out for capspace if CP3 joins
They are already shopping him.

About Hayward he difnt played SG at all. Jingles was the guy adapting his position and Johnson played most of the minutes at 4. Hayward played a little bit of 4 but 90% as SF

82games says Hayward plays SG half the time last season; not sure how accurate their data is but it's definitely more than I know. I guess he could in theory transition there if that's what would be required of him to move to Boston. His best stats are when he plays SG btw.

82games had George as 1/6th of the time playing PF.

Sources: After Paul informed Clippers he'd sign w/ HOU in FA, teams agreed to deal sending Beverley, Decker, Williams and 2018 FRP for Paul.

WOWOWOW, doubt it's enough though.

82games position data is junk. Just sort by height

how do the rockets manage to get so many big free agents? is life in houston that good or are millions being passed under the table?
06-28-2017 , 11:45 AM
Millions passed under table via no income tax.

Eta: also blackest warm weather city in league.

Helps to have a GM who's not risk averse, finds gems late in the draft, and generally wins trades.
06-28-2017 , 11:46 AM
MOREY
06-28-2017 , 11:47 AM
Lol I wonder how it feels to have the greatest PG (although on downside) of all time and a top 4-8 SG of all time in his prime and still have basically 0% equity.

GSW just so sick.
06-28-2017 , 11:48 AM
clippers get assets
cp3 gets his supermax he negotiated for
rockets get cp3

poor spurs
06-28-2017 , 11:49 AM
yeah i'm pretty casual rox fan and still kind of indifferent its like okay whatever how are you gonna beat the warriors
06-28-2017 , 11:49 AM
Who cares at this point, I'm just really excited to see the dynamic between those two. Seems as though Harden and CP3 are polar opposites, but the fact that they wanted to play with each other so much makes me think it could really work. I'd love to see them give GSW a run for their money.

and yes, MOREY

Also this is a GREAT outcome for Roc Divers and co. just a great use of what little resources he had. They can now jettison Andre DJ and begin a proper rebuild. I think they owe Boston a protected pick, but that could never convey if they decide to be bad for a while.

Kudos to LAC imo
06-28-2017 , 11:50 AM
Boston has the Clippers 2019 pick but there are protections. Seems like this is a tank and Boston can get screwed:

2019 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers' 1st round pick to Boston (via Memphis) protected for selections 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if the L.A. Clippers have not conveyed a 1st round pick to Boston by 2020, then the L.A. Clippers will instead convey their 2022 2nd round pick to Boston [L.A. Clippers-Memphis, 2/18/2016; Boston-Memphis, 6/23/2016]
06-28-2017 , 11:50 AM
so wheres blake end up
06-28-2017 , 11:52 AM
if you are morey how else are you managing prime harden during this warriors dynasty?

even if you traded for him for max assets, that's basically your job and it really hurts the image/business side of things

if they actually optimized harden's rest (which could indirectly happen now with him sharing the load with CP3) maybe they have outs vs. the warriors (all-in 3 pointer high variance life).

just a ****ty situation to be in, but i'm not sympathetic because morey knows the science of rest and he didn't interfere with MDA/Harden this year, just like how he didn't interfere with a Howard/Capela twin towers experiment the year prior.
06-28-2017 , 11:53 AM
I'm warming to him being on Denver, but it's a definitely risky. I think I'd prefer him to Millsap at this point.
06-28-2017 , 11:53 AM
Houston still 4th in Championship Equity unless they do something else right?

1) Warriors >>>> 2) Cavs-EAST >> 3) SPURSSSSS >? 4) Houston

I guess Boston could move way up if they some how get Gordon / George + fill bench with decent role players. At this point, it seems silly though to pay for George to literally have to roll for the Warriors and Cavs to have serious injuries in the playoffs.
06-28-2017 , 11:53 AM
Losing Beverly sort of a big deal.
