LMA extension does seem weird, but then again pretty much every NBA contract seems like a gross overpay these days so maybe LMA isn't that bad
10-16-2017 , 05:28 PM
It's awful, the extension starts in 2 years he's locked in until 2022

HBob on Simmons pod says he's not a Durant fan because he once heard KD really wanted to meet Dan Blizerian. Which is probably one of the best reasons ever given for not respecting someone.

Wowww SHOTS FIRED @ Dean

Cutting him loose if he blows is the right move, but the Grizzlies drafting since Conley has been unbelievably horrible. I haven’t extensively compared but I’d be shocked if anyone’s been worse the last 8 years or so.

Cutting a young player before his prime seems like a major mistake to me. Cutting him in favor of an old when your upside is maybe squeeking into the playoffs seems like an offense worthy of termination.

Quote:
Coach Pop called me up after hearing the President’s remarks explaining why he hadn’t mentioned the four US soldiers killed in an ambush in Niger. Trump said, “President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I’m able to do it.”

Maybe it was bald-faced nature of this lie. Maybe it is Pop’s own history in the military, but the Coach clearly had to vent. He said, “I want to say something and please just let me talk and please make sure this is on the record.”

Here is what he expressed:

At this point, Coach Pop paused, and I thought for a moment that perhaps he didn’t have the words and the conversation would end. Then he took a breath and said:

We have a pathological liar in the White House: unfit intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically to hold this office and the whole world knows it, especially those around him every day. The people who work with this President should be ashamed because they know it better than anyone just how unfit he is, and yet they choose to do nothing about it. This is their shame most of all.
Then he said, “Bye, Dave.” And that was it. Should be one hell of an NBA season.

POP GOAT

Spoiler:
Except at paying olds.

Pretty sure even Trump wouldn't pay 22M for 36 years old LMA when he already started his decline last season and they have kiwi right in his prime
10-16-2017 , 06:27 PM
Trump would sign him and then just never pay him

Weird that he felt the need to note that he has nothing against Dan when that seems clearly not to be the case. Prob runs in some of the same circles (the circles revolving around bumhunting bill Perkins)

Maybe he just meant he has nothing directly personal against Bilzerian, but doesn't respect him. I don't have anything personal against Bilzerian either, but I would lose respect for someone who admires him.
10-16-2017 , 07:13 PM
Durant gave himself the nickname, The Servant.

Can't respect him just for that.
10-16-2017 , 07:17 PM
KD is definitely a weirdo for begging to meet Dan Blizerian, but we already knew that
10-16-2017 , 07:18 PM
Richard Jefferson signing with Denver per woj... If they jettison off one of their young guys I will be very sad.
10-16-2017 , 07:25 PM
What, you don’t like veteran presents?
10-16-2017 , 07:34 PM
It's jameer. He actually played well for them but they must be confident in their younglings. I'm a bit worried about how this will look if Mudiay struggles.

Teams need to start amassing assets to be used in a few years to trade for Kawhi when Pop runs for president and the Spurs go into rebuild mode.

Bilzarian wouldn't have been missed if it had been 59 instead of 58.

I would 100% unironically and nonfacetiously vote for pop for president.

Soulless coward. Hot damn.

serious but random question: isn't it weird that nobody tried to take durant out last year? i mean if you were lebron, considering how much he presumably cares about his legacy and the added equity he'd get from durant being out of the finals, wouldn't it make sense to talk to some min-salary guy late in the year and just promise to pay him $5M + any salary missed from fines/suspensions if Durant misses the playoffs?

Lebron is having Ante Zizic do some heavy study of Pachulia tape.

I love Zaza.
