Wade giving back $8M. The Bulls paid $39M for 1792 minutes of Wade at .508 TS.

On sportsbook, you can get bulls under 22.5 (-115)

How do these guys find 20 wins

agreed. Also, this shift in power with the East just having a bunch of scrubs kinda sucks if you ask me. The playoffs basically being BOS vs CLE with a small possibility of Wizards or MIL doing something is terribly boring. If the BOS CLE series happens thatll be fun for sure but there is something off with the West having the caliber of players they have now. Its absurd.

You dont want to play wade/thompson/rose. I wouldnt even want two of those on the court with LBJ

the east is historically bad. every team in the east basically starts with 15 wins already because new york, brooklyn, philly, atlanta, indiana, orlando are so bad that there will automatically be losses and they happen to play each other a lot

40 wins definitely get you in the playoffs. I actually think some money can be made betting the over on bad eastern teams. O31.5 for Indiana for example seems appealing. sure they don't have any world beater in their team but at least they got solid talent at every position and they'll be playing new york and chicaco and the likes a bunch of times

Yeah Shumpert sucks and has a bad contract but he's a better shooter and defender than Wade and it's real difficult to imagine a non-garbage time Cavs lineup where you'd prefer Wade to him.

People talking about Wade at PG in a big lineup are like 5 years out of date, there are ~0 rotation PGs in the league that Wade could even imagine guarding. Maybe Dellavedova?

He's no longer on the Bulls tho

Exum sucks so I'll go there.

DWill and Calderon are obvious, don't know if either are actually in rotations. Calderon is in Cleveland anyway.

That has to be a troll.

No way he doesn't color it otherwise.

eta: That was just a thought experiment Fly, it doesn't detract from your point.

Per woj:

Phoenix Suns forward TJ Warren has agreed to a four-year, $50M contract extension, league sources tell ESPN.

Seems like a great deal to me. Love TJ!

I don't think it really moves the needle for their starting lineup since PG, Westbrook and melo are such awkward fits, but it does bolster their second unit quite a bit and allows the team to exploit weaknesses better.

maybe a weird way to put it, but if they're always going to put up x points per game before melo I don't think this trade increases it that much, but it would allow them to exploit matchups game to game better to where they will more consistently reach that number.

It's a no brainer trade for OKC of course.

Iso ball Melo #1 option isn't good. Catch and shoot Melo #3 option is pretty nice.

I don't think it's too awkward of a fit, because his extra shooting allows them to keep a Jerami Grant / Andre Roberson on the floor while keeping the offensive output near the same. They probably improve more on D than O, not because of his D, but because of who it allows them to play. Not playing McDermott and Kanter has to help defensively as well.

Seems like a pretty mediocre to bad deal for the Suns.

Warren is pretty much the exact opposite of the archetype of wing I'd want on my team. He's been bad from 3, he doesn't get to the line, and he's pretty bad on D. He also has a T-Rex wingspan, so it's not like it's easy to project much upside there. He scores on mediocre efficiency with below average usage.

I think it's reasonable to project some improvement on his 3 pointer but I don't expect him to turn into a useful 2 way wing, which is what he'd need to do to justify his cost.

These are good points. I think the ball is going to stop a lot for them for at least the first half of the season. melo has essentially played one way his entire career, It's going to be interesting to see him play 2nd or 3rd option.

Now if they can create a PNR offense with Melo as the screener or the off ball guy I think it could work out very well, but a lot of that hinges on things I've never seen melo do.

I do think that having another guy that can create his own shots and alleviate some of Westbrook's regular season workload will be huge for a potential playoff push. Not that you want Melo being the main offensive option, but for stretches in a game where westbrook is resting it's beneficial imo.

Sixers are projected as a playoff team, I guess you should pound that under 42 if you think they are bottom 6 in the East.
