Agree you cant get wall, but 100% sure memphis snapcall gasol for shumpert and pick if the Nets are a bottom 3 team by january

IT JAE LEBRON LOVE GASOL is a real death lineup
it would have to be for someone who makes money? shumpert makes 9 million and gasol 22

I think Channing works.

I still don't make that move without a guarantee for Cleveland. I'm not sure there is a player that makes sense other than AD, and I really doubt Cleveland could swing him if NO made him available.

I also don't think that TRG lineup is all that special, especially against the Warriors.

Assuming he will want at least 30M, there seem to be very few places he could go. I'm having a hard time buying that he'd go to LA with all of their youth and a lack of talent overall, but that's what everyone's reporting and perhaps he just wants to think about life after basketball. What helps their chances is that there aren't many teams with means that could challenge Golden State even with Lebron...

If he can't beat them, does trying to get close even matter?

i'm wrong about shumpert's deal actually. he makes 10 million this year per hoopshype. still think that's not enough though. frye listed at 7 million this year.

that concept of this deal could be a good spot for them to unload tristan. . .

I'm sure Embiid will try to recruit him.

I'm thinking the Clippers.

Sorry I meant Shump + Channing. That's a lot of poopoo to send Memphis' way, and even then I think it's too much to give with this draft looking so good at the top.

Looking at the Lebron free agency thing, I think there are motivations for several teams, but I'm not finding any of them to be inherently better than the others.

SAS - I consider them to be a dark horse because they can possibly afford him assuming LMA opts out (given), Green and Gay (less likely) do as well , but holy cow did they bungle this last offseason if that was their intention. They could have had two max+ slots available to grab say Lebron + CP3, then work on a new deal for Green/Slowmo.

CP3-Green-Kawhi-Lebron-anyone would challenge the Warriors, depending on who the anyone was... Not so much now.

Cleveland - has the allure of an easy trip to the finals each year, which I'm guessing is a feat Lebron is pretty proud of. IT2 might get old or never be the same, but the allure of a top prospect alone might encourage Lebron to stay.

LA - The reasons have been mentioned, and I think they are valid. Still would Lebron be okay losing in the first round pretty much every remaining year he's in the league?

That could be a spot, but do the Clippers have the space? Unlike SAS with LMA, they won't want to renounce DAJ's cap hold when he invokes his PO because he'd be needed to re-sign. That doesn't leave much even if Austin opts out and they renounce him, which I want to see just for the lols.

Lebron with four 3 point shooters 3 elite defensive player and 3 playmaker

Smiff tt frye shump theres lots of ****ty player to dump

If lebron stay they can also bamboozle the meague by making other team believe lebron leave and sell 19/20 unprotected first

I have less faith in Gasol these days I guess.

Thinking about it a bit more, Denver could swing a CP3+Lebron pairing next year assuming they don't extend Harris.

CP3-Harris-Lebron-Millsap-Jokic
Murray-Hernangomez-Beasley-Lydon-Lyles + ring chasers

Does that even challenge GSW? Christ the Warriors are so freaking good.

[edit] and no ofc I'm not speculating it'll happen, just dreaming about being the second best team ITL.

They were both god ****ing awful against Slovenia. Almost as bad as Rubio, although neither of them shoot as badly as Rubio, my god he can't shoot against a bunch of Slovenes. It's not like Doncic can play defense.

lebron should come to the celtics obviously. re-unit with his buddy kyrie. the articles write themselves.

Your best hope for becoming the second best team itl is Jokic schizogeny. And frankly he is the one player itl for whom that does appear to be a genuine possibility.

Seadood thinks Lebron is destined to lose in the 1st round the rest of his career but after thinking about it more Denver could swing a CP3 and Lebron pairing next year.

Appreciating your thoughts as always

I will gladly bet on a Lebron 2018-2019 Lakers team. You win 1st round exit or worse I win conference finals or better?

yup. totally sucks to be the cavs. it so terrible to watch the best player of all time carry his team to the finals and take on the best team of all time. just an awful situation for cavs fans. would much prefer to watch a team with worse players get less deep in the playoffs.

he doesnt need brad stevens to change his game like everyone here is advocating. it seems that no one here as ever watched irving play, nor have they even perused his bref page. dude has excellent efficiency on high usage. lolololol at criticizing his shot selection.

its also a joke when ppl try to claim he cant play off the ball or that he is selfish or whatever.

in a few months boston fans are gonna be descending on this thread and acting like he is a changed player. he wont be. hes will be the same player as he was in cleve and will put up very similar numbers. but the narrative will be entirely different.
