I still don't make that move without a guarantee for Cleveland. I'm not sure there is a player that makes sense other than AD, and I really doubt Cleveland could swing him if NO made him available.

Assuming he will want at least 30M, there seem to be very few places he could go. I'm having a hard time buying that he'd go to LA with all of their youth and a lack of talent overall, but that's what everyone's reporting and perhaps he just wants to think about life after basketball. What helps their chances is that there aren't many teams with means that could challenge Golden State even with Lebron...

Looking at the Lebron free agency thing, I think there are motivations for several teams, but I'm not finding any of them to be inherently better than the others.

SAS - I consider them to be a dark horse because they can possibly afford him assuming LMA opts out (given), Green and Gay (less likely) do as well , but holy cow did they bungle this last offseason if that was their intention. They could have had two max+ slots available to grab say Lebron + CP3, then work on a new deal for Green/Slowmo.

CP3-Green-Kawhi-Lebron-anyone would challenge the Warriors, depending on who the anyone was... Not so much now.

Cleveland - has the allure of an easy trip to the finals each year, which I'm guessing is a feat Lebron is pretty proud of. IT2 might get old or never be the same, but the allure of a top prospect alone might encourage Lebron to stay.
