they seem infatuated with crabbe tho
Yeah I can see this point. Cap space for salary dumping purposes could be really valuable when half the teams are in the tax next year. Still, Brooklyn is building a team with some exciting, intriguing pieces and Crabbe really wanted to play there, I think it's a good thing to go after players like that. Bonus points for being a very good to elite shooter that will in theory aid in the development of their other young pieces.

Not the way I wanted to see knight not play for the suns this season, but oh well.

Doesn't it mean more Ulis? That has to hurt their tanking strategy.

POR also just delayed their decision on Connaughton's contract so it does look like they could be gearing up for some larger move. If it ends up being Ryan Anderson, and there is even a whiff of trying to tout positives of him and Meyers Leonard in some way, I don't know, just

Would be sad to see the dirtbag Connaughton era come to an end

How do major injuries work with the cap? Seems like the Knight thing may be a win.

I believe that if the team is at or above the cap then you can get some sort of relief. Suns are way under cap so it will count against. Can't believe they traded Isiah Thomas for him then gave him 70 mil right after he gets hurt a few years ago. Good news is that it's not like the team is close and the contract is holding them from taking next step.

Those were actually separate deals.

The Bucks, Suns and Sixers combined on Thursday for a three-team point guard mega deal that sent Brandon Knight to Phoenix, Michael Carter-Williams to Milwaukee and a protected 2015 first-round pick to Philadelphia. Tyler Ennis and Miles Plumlee will also go from Phoenix to Milwaukee.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Boston Celtics thrust themselves into the frenetic final minutes of the 2015 NBA trade deadline, acquiring point guard Isaiah Thomas from the Phoenix Suns and dealing Tayshaun Prince to the Detroit Pistons, the Pistons announced Thursday.

Boston acquired Thomas in exchange for Marcus Thornton and the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2016 first-round draft pick.

Boston sent Prince to the Detroit team he spent most of his career with in exchange for Jonas Jerebko and Luigi Datome.
Credit to snips from SI and ESPN respectively.

What's dumb is he wouldn't do that deal without a Lebron guarantee. Gilbert and James have one of the most dysfunctional relationships of all time, and it never ends.

Zero chance they do better than that for kyrie regardless of Lebron staying or going. Plus I don't know if Gilbert knows this but Lebron is starting the final trimester of his career. While I think he will age well you are still looking at significant drop offs. I know George would have been a potential rental but it is pretty clear bird rights for certain markets don't hold a lot of value for top tier talent.

Gilbert is just a really good player who luckboxed into one of the best players of all time come to him and also be from his state. So the decision, the redemption etc etc none of that was a positive for Gilbert. I don't really see how Gilbert gets credit for their title in any meaningful way. They won in spite of him.

why the feck didn't Lebron just lie about staying. that is a sick deal for cleveland.
07-25-2017 , 10:09 PM
Lebron is supposed to be socially conscious but Rose is a gang rapist.
