Didn't they do that with Love?
07-21-2017 , 03:09 PM
IIRC they offered love the shorter contract... for comparison Hayward wanted an extension (didn't get it), then wanted the max at the start of RFA, Utah made him go and get his own deal and he signed one that was shorter and prohibitive.

It looks like all these RFAs that ended up being issues for their respective teams happened after no agreement was made at the start of restricted free agency.

Let's just say Wiggs goes off this year and they didn't extend him, what happens in a year? My guess is July 1 they offer him the same deal, one that nobody can touch, and then he signs it. It makes no sense for him to be like "screw you I'm getting a deal somewhere else you have to match" because he'd lose out on money and still be with the same team.

I don't see how Wiggins has a leg to stand on.

Couldn't he instead sign a max with another team with a PO for the last season. Will cost him a bit of $$, but allows him flexibility to depart sooner.

Boston to win the East is 3:1

Toronto is 40:1

Sixers and Bucks 20:1 lol

He could and that's what would likely happen if he absolutely wanted to leave Minnesota. The problem is he'd be taking less money with less raises for the chance to leave a year sooner, but that's still 3 years out.

And that's not factoring that on this hypothetical (him being really good) he'd be in the running for the DPE that will pay him boatloads...

I just don't see a lot of leverage on AW's side.

so kyrie being traded? according to woj anyway
07-21-2017 , 03:49 PM
Cavs imploding it sounds like

labron leaving next summer, kyrie wants out
07-21-2017 , 03:50 PM
He's asking for one:

Quote:
Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him.

The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.

Irving's agent Jeff Wechsler would not confirm or deny whether Irving asked for a trade.

"Kyrie and I had a meeting with Cavs leadership where we discussed many different scenarios in reference to Kyrie and his future with the team," Wechsler told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. "The basis of those discussions and what went on in those discussions are between the Cavs and us. We are respectfully going to keep those private."

So at this point LBJ has to be on the block now right? Then again maybe they can get a better player for Kyrie. Too bad George Hill can't be traded for a few months because that would make a lot of sense now.
07-21-2017 , 03:54 PM
First, I would have requested them to hire a GM
07-21-2017 , 03:56 PM
Prbly better to **** with Gilbert before one is there.
07-21-2017 , 03:59 PM
Too bad Kyrie isn't good enough to lead a good team.
07-21-2017 , 04:07 PM
Using my one time on labron to the rox
07-21-2017 , 04:10 PM

!?

im giving you 1:1 odds right now on a (hypothetical) playoff series that you think your side would easily win in 5.

how is that not a snap call?
07-21-2017 , 04:21 PM
Loooool kyrie what a colossal loser. No one in history with less self awareness
07-21-2017 , 04:23 PM

Kyrie for Conley and Allen who says no?

Cavs get a better fit and some much needed wing defense

Allen is a FA iirc. That would be a hefty tax bill for Cleveland but overall I like it.

I wonder if it's best for them to just blow the whole thing up right now and do what they always do which is ride their wave of incompetence to a few #1 picks.
07-21-2017 , 04:30 PM
Lebron isn't coming back if he leaves again. Lebron some how wins despite the dumbest FO/GM/org in the league.
