plumlee sucks cmon dood
07-18-2017 , 09:58 PM
Plumlee #15 is the Banana Cream Pie #1 of C rankings
07-18-2017 , 09:59 PM
I think the delta between (Seadood rank of Plumlee) and (Seadood rank of Plumlee had the trade to Denver never occurred) is something like ~10.
07-18-2017 , 10:01 PM
The irony of a poster who literally had 95% of his contributions to the thread trolling me being accusatory when all that was stated were his own predictions.
07-18-2017 , 10:03 PM
Dood you mention me all the time

Don't get super butthurt when people call you out for saying mason ****ing plumlee is a league average starting C

he's garbage, but it's not your fault

Search is your friend... I said he was decent before he was traded. Also I said I was meh on the trade when it happened but I do feel a little better about it. Nurk breaking his leg helped ease the pain of him going off and suddenly learning to shoot.

Let's be real MS, I get accused of misrating players due to homerism, but other than Nurk, who ironically may turn out to be a decent prediction, I've been pretty much spot on with everyone else on the team. I've won 100% of my season total bets the last 3 years... meanwhile a certain LA Minnesota fan comes in higher with his predictions and still thinks Wiggins>Harris. You're my boy Sam, but you are a just as ridiculous of a homer as I am if not moreso.

That's plausible, can't really fight you on that. But I think I've been a pretty solid realist on WIGGZ (including winning that money right back iirc ).
07-18-2017 , 11:06 PM
I'm actually buying some Wiggins kool-aid this year, I haven't said much about him as of late because I think Jimmy is going to set him straight.

which #s say that plumlee is ~ league average?

edit: you're just talking per right? the average center may be pretty bad so maybe that is possible. i would say he is not a starting caliber center though, which is what really matters. or maybe i should say he's not someone i would be happy to have starting

PER,WS48, BPM, RPM, CARMelo projects all averaged out in about five to ten seconds.

@Hells... ofc we wouldn't be happy starting him unless the team was like GSW.. My original point was he's an elite backup/average starter who will make 7th man money and will be on a contract that's an asset.

damn right you buying WIGGZ. hes gonna crush

If you don't have a good season or even if you do and the leave obviously you are left with a completely broken roster and no lotto picks for a couple years.
2)Trade both for whatever you can get and shorten the rebuild time.

I kind of lean 2 because OKC title equity is like 1%ish and if RWB won't sign for the most money he can get he isn't signing for less later. PG prob isn't resigning no matter what but definitely not without RWB. I honestly am not sure the franchise survives the worst case scenerio if they go with option 1.
Rwb/IT super trade incoming

don't think per/ws48 are even worth looking at most of the time. the others are so much better. his rpm is l 25th, which is better than i would have guessed. his bpm does look decent though

Plumlee does have a high motor

sorry seadood, plumlee is bad. probably a league average backup, and unique in the sense that he can pass, but he's terrible defensively and a total non shooter just ain't contributing to winning.

i love him for denver in the sense that they can run similar offense as when jokic is in, but that's 15 minutes a game, and he wants 15m/year and that player is worth 5m/year. so there's no real compromise, and he's not worth a first, and he definitely wasn't worth an interesting young player and a first.

your argument about "well, what do you do if nurkic just won't play hard and is a cancer?" has some merit but ultimately doesn't matter. cut him if it's that bad, but don't treat him like a negative asset in a trade. (also fwiw i don't think we've seen enough from nurk to be as excited as portland fans were about him in the second half of the season, and i wouldn't be happy about paying him >10m/year and watching him get fat and disgruntled if he has a good contract year this year)

the most important thing to remember is that centers grow on trees these days. if you wanna pay a backup center 15m/year, im pretty damn sure you can get vucevic for free. if you'd rather grab someone on the cheap, you could do worse than willie reed or mo speights for the minimum, or you can let the raptors or kings know that you'll take one of their interestingish young Cs, OR you could just play arthur, or faried, or millsap at backup C because they're already on your team. or trey lyles because you traded for him like an idiot instead of keeping donovon mitchell.

teams realized they need more skill on the floor at the expense of bigs and so two positions were essentially consolidated into one unless you were one of the 20% of PFs who could shoot or dribble enough to continue to play PF in 2017

Where are you getting this 15M number? And if you think someone like Mo Speights @ the min is better than Plumlee at the number he's going to get I don't know what to tell you... check the stats yo.

Also wrt Mitchell, let's pump the brakes here. He shot <40% overall and took a ton of shots to do it, looked great on defense but overall SL is a time for overreaction... He should look great though right, being he's two years older than most rookies.. The biggest reason Denver shouldn't have drafted him is that there is no path for him to even get minutes in Denver. He obviously doesn't get burn over Harris/Jamal next year, and then you have Barton if they hold onto him. Hell I'm not totally sure he'd even be 4th on the SG chart because Beasley looked similarly good in SL despite being younger and having actual NBA experience in games where he played well..

I think DMitch is a fine prospect based on SL, but prior to the draft do you really take what looks to be BPA when you have 3 young prospects, 2 of which are younger thank Mitchell, with the hopes that they will develop properly? It's a very tough call imo, and from what I saw last year it's very difficult to develop a prospect that way. Prior to Hinkie drafting 4 centers and what went on with Jurkic I would have agreed, but I watched the inability to find minutes for young players eat at both teams to the point where they had to give guys away without fully knowing what they had.

Sounds great in a vacuum, but I think in reality it's very tough to do.

I won’t argue the merits of Plumlee. I just don’t see how they recoup the pick, straight up, in a trade.

anyone interested in a highly rested luol deng?

Mozgov went for 2 firsts, a 2 month rental of Afflalo netted a first and Will Barton. 3 DUI-having-not-showing-up to practice Ty Lawson netted a first.

And that's just one team in the last 2 years. A decent (hell Afflalo wasn't even decent) player on a good contract will generally net something like that if it's timed right. Players go down mid-season, and good teams get desperate to gain depth.

Bojan, Bellinelli, Bargs, Courtney Lee, old Kyle Korver, Jeff Green twice in 13 months!, hell Kendrick Perkins got netted a first that became a player who is now dead. The market will be there for someone who's on a good contract and an okay player, good teams typically don't value late-round picks.

Scherer how you gonna walk back into our lives like you haven't been gone for years?
07-19-2017 , 03:49 AM
I don't think any of you know what average means
07-19-2017 , 03:50 AM
Sherer came back for the Ball, I don't blame him.

btw I'm missing a ton of meh players who got traded for late 1sts, those were from memory and I've just remembered a few more.
07-19-2017 , 04:07 AM
Scherer - how many wins do you think the Lakers get next season?
07-19-2017 , 04:12 AM
Also, is it time for another draft? After perusing the NFL one from a while ago, I think we could do something similar where we give teams a finite amount of money to spend and take their salaries into account, maybe like a draft for the upcoming season utilizing each player's actual salary next year.

I think that would make for some very interesting teams.
