correct. then they cut sjax. The Warriors gave them that gift for no good reason.

To get rid of RJeff the Warriors had to pay Utah to take RJeff and Biedrins. The final payment on that deal is Utah has this year's Warriors pick. An earlier payment got them Rodney Hood.

why the hell do you want anything to do with PG when he'd obv a 1 year rental?

Lol at preferring the lakers btw

The fact that PG wants to head to the Lakers should be all the information you need when it comes to how much he's worth.

With that said, Jamal Murray and a first?

Okay so my memory was faulty, but if recall Jefferson turned down a really lucrative one-year option then resigned that four-year option for a lot less. I guess that could be justifiable, but I think it looked shady at the time.

Powell will probably get a huge offer next year as a RFA that the Raps can't match without going deep into the luxury tax. They would be more willing to go into it with George.

Lowry+Ibaka+George+ Derozan is an incredible starting lineup (and they have a solid bench) that wins 60+ and is only underdogs to GS. Probably even with Boston if they get Butler. Who knows what's going to happen with Cleveland's roster, sure they have Lebron and will be a force still.

Raptors with his bird rights coming off a finals appearance could keep him over a lottery Lakers team.
His prime fits in well with the other 3 mentioned above. Raps window is the next 3 years and then it closes.

Two of DD/Lowry/George will be on the floor at all times and when George and DD are together that means that one of them will be going against the other team's weaker/smaller wing defender, something that screams mismatch (players under 6'6 can't guard DD)

Lakers are trading Tim Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell to Nets for Brook Lopez and 27th pick Thursday, sources say.

Wow.

Feel like Nets got fleeced so hard....

This has to mean that someone is coming along with PG right?

Please make it be Blake.

Free up cap room to make a major run at someone next year for the Lakers while opening the door for Lonzo to take over.

Nets get DAR who is worth more than #28.

I like the trade

Anyone going to Summer League this summer?

Really? I think there was no market for Brook and he wasn't doing much for them at all.. DAR is a legit prospect even though he's an idiot, and perhaps most importantly he's a great fit with the offense they are trying to run.

They have cap space, no draft picks, Lopez is old and not under contract for long. It works for them.

Lin is also available.
06-20-2017 , 06:16 PM
lol wtf are the lakers doing
06-20-2017 , 06:20 PM
It's almost like this is what happens when you put a former NBA great with no real qualifications in charge.
06-20-2017 , 06:22 PM
Seems like DAR should be able to fetch more.

However, given the extreme negative asset that is Mozgov, nets only real logical trade partner for him. It's actually not a ridiculous deal for the Lakers imo.
06-20-2017 , 06:22 PM
It's incredible how damaging that Mozgov contract was, and it's even more incredible that it wasn't even the worst contract penned during that offseason (hi, Noah's contract).
06-20-2017 , 06:22 PM
Yeah it's good for the Nets because they get an actual young asset for Lopez and they can eat the cap hit for Mozgov since they are going to suck anyway.

For the Lakers, I like it too. Lopez is a decent rental they can flip again at the deadline, they get a pick, they free up cap room for Lebron or Westbrook in 2018.
06-20-2017 , 06:23 PM
Well I don't think it's a bad play by them. Clears up room for Bron (I'm assuming) or Blake (I'm hoping) to pair with PG13.
06-20-2017 , 06:24 PM
Given Magic Johnson's twitter incompetence, I was expecting much worse from him. Disappointed.
06-20-2017 , 06:25 PM
Oh yeah I forgot Westbrook... please let it be him.

But you know who I think it really is?

Spoiler:
06-20-2017 , 06:26 PM
Isn't Mozgov on a terrible contract with a few years remaining
