Pick #146 in the modern draft after a mediocre rookie campaign; god this draft was so much fun.

assani didn't draft him but was a huge durant proponent in the nba thread or the previous years draft thread or something.

lebron went #3 in 2007 and a ton of people were up in arms. looks like a steal now ^^.

Beasley was really good too......you just never know. Ball has the eye test; I wouldn't mind seeing him fail because he's on the lakers and his dad is a jack ass but the stuff i saw in college was pretty ridiculous.

KD put up stats in college where I recall only like 3-4 guys had ever been comparable and they weren't just NBA HoF'ers but absolute legends.

Beasley put up better stats the next year; both were insane freshman.

Durant put up 25.8/11reb/1.3a on 47% shooting and 40% from the 3 point line in 36 mpg

Beasley put up 26.2/12.4/1.2 on 53% shooting and 37% from the 3 point line in 31.5 mpg

we haven't had freshman like those 2 in years. i guess 1 guy dominated on skill and the other on size.

CSB- Only drove to go see two HS kids in my lifetime and one was to go see Adrian Peterson in Palestine and the other was Durant in Dallas. Mainly cause they were absolute legends even at 17.

Were freaks even in their teenage years. KD was running down as a listed 6-10 jacking 3's and making them. Nuts.
