I actually like Dan a lot, I just thought it was so bizarre that some super famous guy was really desperate to meet Dan and it made me lose a little respect for KD because he came off like a desperate weirdo fanboi.

How about the Jazz though

Last ditch effort to save a fantasy league. We have a dynasty full keeper league that has 3 slots. PM me if interested. Given late start not sure how we'll manage the schedule but I'm confident we can work it out.

Booked. Anyone else? Really want the Kings to be my LP team and don't think the Bucks come close to their number.

Pretty sure he’s still hurt from summer league.

Fultz not starting means nothing (yet) and Ainge could’ve also taken future HoFer Lonzo so it’s not just that either.

Leonard and LeBron basically are the only possibilities for mvp. Harden, Steph, KD, Westgoat all have all world teammates. And the rest like YANNIS etc won't finish in the top 2 of their conference and thus won't win mvp.

Westbrook just won it outside the top 4 in their own conference.

It still makes sense *******.

Brandon Wright has done nothing. Jae Crowder was very good in Boston, but was very very blocked and outplayed by Al Farouq Aminu in Dallas, and the first round pick that was so coveted that we gave up was Guerschon Yabusele.

The problem is that I underestimated what a piece of ass Rajon Rondo was. He was terrible at passing and super unprofessional and lazy, to the point his own teammates refused him a playoff share.

It turned out awful for the Mavericks, that's for sure, but it was the right decision at the time without a crystal ball. Kind of like the Nerlens Noel trade, which was a no brainer at the time.

It was awful at the time but that's cuz TZ had Brandon Wright as a top 5 center due to his advanced stats.

No it didn’t make sense. Dallas got a half season of cancer from Rondo, who had sucked for a full year and a half and had been hampered by injures for even longer - and gave up significant assets for doing so. Jae Crowder is sucking this year but was huge in Boston and was used as a trade piece to obtain Kyrie Irving who is approximately 5000 times better than rondo.

Yabusele is only 21 years old and even if he ends up busting it doesn’t matter it’s about the pick value at the time of the trade. If the Cavs traded the #1 overall pick for greivis Vasquez or something in 2013 it’s still a horrible trade even if that pick ended up being Anthony Bennett.

Def needed that crystal ball when many people were saying Rondo was a washed malcontent

Actually no one was saying he was a malcontent at the time...that's revisionist history.

You guys were all saying his ACL was shot. In his very short time with Dallas, that didn't really seem to be the issue. He was absolutely awful at "running the offense", "passing", and was super lazy on D. All of the things that young Rondo excelled at.

The mavericks have been a low-key terrible front office.

can't remember the posts, but rondo had a rep wrt attitude issues even at that time. excerpt from an SI article at tha time

Quote:
Acquiring Rondo all but requires his complete buy-in. A fully invested and focused Rondo is a two-way weapon. Anything less and the payoff becomes fuzzier. While Rondo’s talent and ability are not in doubt, there are lingering questions about why the best passer in the league has guided substandard offenses in each of the past five seasons. His defense has waned over that same time frame, too, declining from All-NBA-caliber to fickle in effort. It’s been years since Rondo was a great defender and tricky to predict the nights when he decides to be even a good one. Rondo is difficult. He can be headstrong in the way he thinks the game should be played and apparently sour when he isn’t fully committed to a particular enterprise.
edit: like yeah i am sure people also cited rondo's acl tear as a factor and maybe it was discussed as the primary issue by some people. rondo didn't develop the personality rep out of the blue in dallas though
