Dodger correct. Nash definitely the more impactful Sun tho.

Nash had an on/off of +14.9 that first suns year on a 62 win team with a non terrible backup in Barbosa. It's shocking that his orapm isn't better that year despite him demolishing that stat in other years.

I feel like he'd be better valued in the league now to stat nerds when they pay attention to rpm so much. The dudes offenses are all over the best of all time.

Don't remember back in the day well enough to know if he deserved his MVPs or is better than Kidd though.

Also lost in the Tristan talk is that the dude doesn't miss games. Goes a long way to earning a big salary.

Prime Nash is a better modern piece, being a great shooter.

It's been a long time since I've looked into rapm, could his first year be so low because of how it weights prior years?
07-29-2017 , 10:54 AM
that's very possible/probable

edit: also possible that i messed up pairing the rapm seasons to nba seasons, but bpm correlates pretty highly to rapm for obv reasons though idk how true that is of the offensive and defensive components on their own

agree nash would be rated more appropriately on offense right now. his defense would bother people more though, might get the harden treatment.

kc said he thought nash's 2nd mvp was less legit than the first and i think i'm starting to agree actually. first year was kind of a meh mvp year for various reasons

In terms of pure peak I guess I take Nash's over Kidd's. Jidd>Nash overall tho.

For sure, but this has more to do with competition than his actual output. In 04-05 LeBron was in year 2 and Cleveland missed the playoffs, Kobe was hurt half the year, and Duncan played 66 games. Dirk & KG were prob the most realistic MVP's that year aside from Nash. In 05-06 Kobe had easily his best season, dragging a terrible Lakers team to 45 wins in a tough West, and LeBron had his first all-time great season. And that's kinda the point- Rose was a very good player on a very good team, maybe some years he'd be a worthy MVP, but LeBron in his peak (granted his worst peak season) and Dwight with his absolute best season are what make it so bad.

The salary cap draft is great, wish I signed up.

Huge mistake for the TWolves.

They should trade him. If they don't want to trade him, they should wait to see how he plays with Teague/Butler/Towns (who had 76% combined usage last season). After seeing how he plays, if they still don't want to trade him, they should probably let him walk. If they don't let him walk they should match an RFA offer. If they don't want to match RFA they can still max him having more information. Maxing him now is the easily the worst option.

Ya I don't get it at all

lol @ letting Wiggins walk. He's now irreplaceable. Gotta max him and hope.

GALLO

Spoiler:
Gallinari fractured the first metacarpal on his right (shooting) hand after punching an opponent in the face during Sunday's exhibition matchup between Italy and the Netherlands, and he's been given 5-6 week timetable

Gallo always finds new and exciting ways to injure himself

If that's the level of intensity he brings to an exhibition game imagine what he would do in the NBA Finals!
