Still can't believe that dragic deal. The pick next year is only 1-7 protected, then unprotected after that. And the 2021 pick is completely unprotected. Lmao heat.

The Lynx would beat half the teams in the eastern conference

Rudy Gay to the Spurs
07-06-2017 , 08:16 PM
Spurs sign Rudy Gay for two years, per Woj.

We hates is forever. The Spurs are stacked at SF and doing ok at PF. Gay is a huge ballstopper on offence. The **** is RC Buford doing?

i dont want to sweat a bet for this long, just quote this and roast me if the clips end up worse than those 3 teams.

what clips lost in CP3 they now have a lot of depth, rolling teo/patbev at the 1 with louwill/austin at the 2 is fun. i dont think gallo is a 3, tho, thats a little troublesome.

Rudy is an okay pickup. Not sure it'll help the Spurs much.

Are they just going to keep Simmons for whatever it takes over the cap?

I'm thinking he's bird. Could be early-bird

VC to Sacramento 1 Year 8M. Kings trying to get the 11th seed?

It is pretty crazy for a max contract guy to have such a stipulation.

Simmons has played with the Spurs for two seasons. So it's just early Bird iirc.

In before Pop turns Rudy Gay into an elite player.

Sean Marks seems awesome

That shouldnt be enough to get it done.

But they'll work their Spurs magic.

I cant imagine Simmons walking out on Pop, who is the reason he's in the league.

I'm really surprised all gay got was 8.5m per year, seems really low, was expecting 15mill a year or more tbh. Good pickup by the Spurs, sucks they didn't get a p.g which is what they really needed, sigh.

p.s wtf is dirk thinking? there isn't anybody for the mavs to get, why opt out n take a deal for so much less $, makes no sense.

VC to kings, they really all about that senior leadership this year.

James Johnson 4 year deal back w/ the Heat per woj. Heat should be just about done now
07-06-2017 , 08:58 PM
Rudy ****ing Gay, poor Kawhi
07-06-2017 , 09:02 PM
So the Heat are bringing the gang all back to play with Kelly?

That's still my fave team ITL to watch, along with Denver and Milwaukee. I'll try to catch every Houston game, that's the team of note this year ldo.

The Houston Rockets are working to flip their $10M in non-guaranteed contracts for players or assets, league sources tell ESPN.

Seems really smart since teams want to shed salary - but won't the receiving team need the roster space to take on this many players prior to waiving?

If they can waive prior to actually being rostered, lots of interest should be around.

Not only is Gay a huge offensive black hole, the Spurs took a wing, which the only position that they did not really need to address. They have Kawhi Leonard, Jonathon Simmons and Kyle Anderson at the 3. Danny Green can play the 3. Simmons can probably play as a small-ball 4. They have Aldridge and Bertans at the 4, which is a teensy bit shallow, but not a gaping hole.

Meanwhile, they have Pau Gasol and... no one else at the 5 (no way they are getting Dedmon back).
And they will have to start Dejounte Murray (who is promising, but not ready) or Mills (a 6'0'' shooting guard) at the 1.

Pop will def. make Gay into a better player.

Remember how Gay played when he was on the 2014 FIBA Olympic squad?
07-06-2017 , 09:14 PM
Gay per 82games.com has been a pretty decent positive player 2 of the last 3 seasons. I don't love Rudy but he's not awful and Pop usually gets the most of players. Pop must see something in him.
07-06-2017 , 09:15 PM
Smart move by Gay. He wasn't gonna get too much more than that at his age off an achilles injury.

Go to SA, have a nice year, then hope to cash in next summer.

If they decide to keep playing with 2 traditional bigs then it might be tough for him to find playing time tho. That is if Simmons is back.

Also, re: the Otto Porter cash upfront thing, I didn't even know you could do that. So he just gets 14mill on Oct 1st every year? Not a bad way to live.

I got a feeling Spurs gonna play smaller this year. Aldridge a lot at the 5, Gay definitely at the 4 at times in that scenario.
07-06-2017 , 09:29 PM
Yea I'm in on Gay being a positive with Spurs. Of course he's gonna chuck and be a net negative in Sacramento. He'll be fine with Pop
07-06-2017 , 09:32 PM
Even in summer league, Exum doesn't look great.

Really loved him when drafted but I think he's going to definitely end up labeled a bust (if not already), obv the injury sucks that happened as well.

He can do basically everything but put the ball in the basket, so maybe he will carve out a career without being able to shoot similar to Livingston but we shall see.
