Yeah Ive been busy lately and I'll be busy all weekend. Tings going to need you to take some time out of offering trades to tank the teams you own in this draft and help the draft keep going for me. Thanks

Wolves take De'Anthony Melton as an instant contributor to improve their defense. He will spend the entire off-season shooting 1000 3 pointers a day

+1

I saw a (lol) Knicks mock yesterday that had Porter going to the Knicks in the 2nd round.

My first thoughts were "lol no ****ing way does he last that long."

So yeah it's hard to find quality KNACKS coverage. 🤷*♀️

Assuming he stays in the draft, the Bulls take Villanova C/PF Omari Spellman.

Pacers select wing Dzanan Musa, 2nd best euro in the draft. He's 6'-9" and only 18 and should provide some scoring off the bench and eventually be a replacement for Thad/Bogdonovic.

Blazers take Josh Okogie. Here's Dean's take on the guy:

https://deanondraft.com/2018/03/22/w...-in-the-draft/

Fits a position of need for the Blazers as they look to compete deep in the playoffs. Can stand in a corner on offense and play excellent defense day 1.

Wow, have had the writeup for my pick ready for a couple days now but theres a guy still on the board that I considered taking for Charlotte at 11. Give me 5 mins to debate here.

Ok, decided to scrap my pick and go with

Lonnie Walker for the Lakers here

Too good of value to pass up at 26 in the draft. He is a lottery type talent.

6'5/ 6'11 wingspan. Reminds me of Donovan Mitchell at Louisville.

I picked Jontay because I think he has similarities with Donovan Mitchell, not that he's supposed to be a 3D small guy, but he has lots of NBA skillsets and he seems to be someone that like to play Winning ball and not statswhore ball

I feel like he's a player that can bust and be out of the league in 3 years if he's drafted by Kings or Magic, but he's also a player that can reach near all-star level in a great environment. I think regarding developing player 1.BRAD 2.Quin and the rest of the league is miles behind those 2

He's also a great fit for a Gobert-led team. Can shoot the 3 and add size in a big line-up, and he could also play the backup Center role. Basically Favors role with O instead of D, which is much more needed by Yazz

Clippers take SF - Jacob Evans
NBA Mock Draft Quote
05-25-2018 , 04:21 PM
For the Celtics, I looked at our current primary rotation (age in brackets).

PG Irving (25) - Rozier (23)
SG: Smart (23) - Brown (21)
SF: Heyward (27) - Taytum (19)
PF: Morris (28) - Ojeleye (23)
C: Horford (31) -Baynes (31)

Obviously PG and SF are not areas we should concentrate on as we have elite level players there. SG is a very young spot for us so I'm not sure injecting more youth there is ideal.

That leaves either PF or C. Going forward, it's expected that Irving/Heyward/Taytum will dominate the ball, so I want a big man who doesn't need the ball a ton, can rebound and defend all three frontcourt positions, run in transition, and finish.

Celtics select: CHIMEZIE METU

Sample scouting reports:
Quote:
Metu is all over the court while playing. An extremely active player, the junior plays with a high motor. The 6’11” jumping jack causes havoc on the defensive end. We believe that his defense will be his calling card at the NBA level. He has the lateral quickness to defend smaller players and shows outstanding timing when blocking shots. Shot-blocking is a skill that usually translates to the next level. His defensive versatility has surely gotten the attention of NBA scouts. Versatile defenders that are 6’11” and athletic are a valuable commodity to an NBA rotation. We project him to be a good rim protector in the NBA, although he will need to gain another 15-20 pounds without losing any athleticism, which is one of his best traits as a player.
Quote:
Metu is a solid prospect and, at 21, he is still going to be able to develop his skills. The defensive upside is legitimate and that will give him a role in the NBA but if the offense ever comes around he could be one of the biggest steals in the 2018 Draft class.

Ok so Im just going to pick for the Warriors

taking Kendrick Nunn from Oakland.

Former 4 star recruit who was a top 60 guy nationally. Played at Illinois a couple of seasons before getting kicked off the team and ending up at Oakland.

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospec...ick-nunn-35783

Recently measured 6'3 with a 6'7 wingspan at something called the Pro Basketball Combine. So hes old and not great measurables.

Averaged 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game last season

Had a 112.8 ortg on 32.5 usage this past season per Sports Reference(which differs slightly from KenPom for whatever reason)

Was second 2nd in the nation in 3 point attempts with 340. Shot 39.4% from 3 on 11.4 attempts per game.

49% from 2. 84% FT shooter who got to the line 7 times per game.

Not just a scorer, 7th in the horizon in assists and 3rd in steals. Had good assist and decent steal rate.

What I like about him is that hes not just a spot shooter, he can really shoot off the dribble as well so theres a chance with a more developed handle he could conceivably develop into a good PnR scorer/creator.

He torched Michigan States top 10 defense for 32 points on 19 shot attempts with 7 assists as well.

In the Portsmouth Invitational, which is basically a combine for college seniors, he lead that event shooting 44% from 3 from NBA range. He also looked good as a PnR ball handler/decision maker.

In an ideal world, Golden State would trade back into the 2nd round and take him since he will almost assuredly not go in the first round, but I like him and this is a 1 round draft so taking him here anyways
