As a Lakers fan in Los Angeles, I think Randle has shown a good ability to pass and defend. He even had a triple double with 10 assists as a rookie last season. His defense wasn't good last season, but it's looking improved. He has quickness to stay in front of multiple positions and he has strength. Still room to grow on D, but I think he will be a + defender. Entering the season, I was wondering if he was going to end up just a high-motor guy better served as a 6th man or if he was going to develop into a starting caliber player. I think his passing and his improving D, along with his motor, rebounding and ability to get to the basket even if it is often ugly, will make him a starter in this league. His key is developing a jumper. He does that and he can be an All-Star.
