Maybe, but they literally started him and Jokic went to the bench. I'm not sure what more they could have done... he wasn't good there.
Maybe Malone is a bad coach and treated him poorly, but Nurk did himself no favors by playing like ass. Nurk was collateral damage from a GM drafting too well as weird as it sounds... A similar thing happened in Philly with Nerlens, who btw has performed MUCH better overall.
And let's get real, he hasn't been this special player overall. Two GREAT games, about four VERY BAD ones, and the rest have been decent. Caldo is quick to come in when he plays an awesome game, but he's been quiet when Nurk is :
2-8, 7 rebs, 5 turnovers against Washington
1-8, 8 rebs 4 turnovers against NOP
7-19, 9 rebs 5 turnovers against SAS
4-16, 13 rebs 2 turnovers against LAL
His numbers are a little above average overall, and he gets to play with two guards who demand so much attention.
