Re: NBA ECF: Heat vs Celtics

lots of types of rigging/crappy reffing

1. Detroit teams of 05 era, Celtics 08. Get a defensive reputation and you are allowed to play much more physical D than the other team. Wade and Lebron are allowed to do this. Perkins, Ben Wallace, lots of defensive "stoppers" get away with murder.

2. Lakers against Kings, Wade vs Miami, Jordan, OKC. Get every ticky tack call on offense. Wade and Lebron usually get the benefit of the doubt. Same with Pierce.

this game was especially bad with wade/lbj getting the calls on both ends, and I do not like the Cs. The techs in game 1 were hilariously awful too.

Re: NBA ECF: Heat vs Celtics

the series is not rigged. the heat are in their prime and accordingly, better, and able to draw more fouls. it is not coincidence that in all of the rigged situations, there is an athletic or skill mismatch that requires on defense to react more.

in college, i reffed with one of the refs in this series. they are not rigging games. that's not what refs do. reffing is just really hard. i recommend going out to ref a rec league game or something. you'll see. its hard as sh%t.

Last night's game was terribly officiated, no doubt. But people really need to get off the "LBJ plays super aggressive defense and only averages 2 fouls WTF?!" line of argument. Avoiding fouls is a skill, and Lebron James is really good at it.

Much more egregious were the soft touch fouls on the other end. And rondo getting mashed in the grill of course

He clocked rondo in game 1.

Obv LBJ is sick. It's not like I think he should avg 4 a game. But he obv commits more than 2 a game. Hell, given how charge happy the league is, it's surprising he doesn't pick up more on that end.

But god forbid someone body him up on his post ups.

lebron should be bodied on the post more since he won't make the defender pay with spin moves or up and unders.

If this is the way LeChoke is going to win his title...? I mean, just give the guy a ring and let's pretend he earned it, it would be better than seeing what we saw last night.

Bill Simmons definitely right about this one too, also like the shot chart he posted on twitter, to derail the "heat went to the basket more" theory.

lolwade going up out of control, spinning backward and getting a call. Such a shame.

Responses to his crying are entertaining. Love that he poasted the shot chart as if it means anything. When you get fouled it doesn't show up as a shot unless its an and 1, so how are Labron/Wade's drives going to show up there when the Celtics openly stated they were going to foul them everytime they came in the lane, lol.

Then he whines about Pierce fouling out against superstars, guess that is why he fouled out of game 7 against the Sixers, lol. Mebbe he is fouling alot because he has to compensate for being old and injured? Nah, crazy talk.

And speaking of rigged, NBA confirmed rigged, Boston doesn't even deserve to be here:

Yeah, because Boston didn't have any chances to win last night's game despite the "blown calls"......... inconsistent logic is inconsistent.

lulz

that was a questionable foul call to begin with, and even then it wasn't clearly an intentional seeing that the foul was called right as the ball was released.

suffice it to say that an intentional foul is getting called there like < 5% of the time (most of the time it's a no call) and you're insane if you think the c's ran good to not have it be an intentional.

and oh yeah btw let us not forget that the Hawks STILL need to score on an inbounds play with 2 secs after the FT

so in conclusion:

a) no
b) F- post
c) lol @ u

it wasn't that clear at the time imo, never called it questionable.

seriously- have you EVER seen a one shot intentional called in that scenario? esp in favor of the road team? did marquis daniels rape horford in a way that the officials had no choice but to call a foul?

unless any of those answers are yes, you can't argue that it SHOULD have been a one shot + ball sitch for atl. in that scenario it's like super standard for the refs to swallow the whistle, and it's a bit of a shock that they called the foul to begin with.

the hawks are practically NEVER getting that call, and the logical reason why it's a rule is to prevent the "hack-a-bad-FT-shooter" strat on the OOB which clearly wasn't what was happening in this particular scenario.

i mean that whole ordeal is so so so far away from being rigged or good fortune to boston that it's just lol that you'd even bring it up as a counterargument here.

Re: NBA ECF: Heat vs Celtics

and fwiw i could give a mother**** if my team needs riggage to win, i'm a duke fan and i love that the refs favor the living hell out of us.

i just think that's a super thin and dumb example to present, especially as a counterexample to the **** that went down last night (which i'm not even complaining about btw- it was frustrating at the time but i ain't gonna dwell).

cavs roll the **** outta the celts in the 08 series that went 7 if the reffing is remotely similar to that past game, ie fair.

celts hacked him every single time in the lane, usually multiple times.

You are right, it never had any chance of being called............ because the ref was scared of "giving" the game to the Hawks instead of rightfully punishing the Celtics for their bad/******ed play.

meh Marquis Daniels only loosely qualifies as a member of the Celtics

i thought Horford fouled him just as much as he fouled Horford (although I haven't watched the replay too many times to be 100% confident in this assertion) anyway. would have been super mega run bad to have that called as an intentional at home.
