Yes they can, just amnesty Perkins. They may lose Ibaka, but mebbe not even that depending on if they can get him for less than the max and ownership's willingness to spend big.

In a 2-3-2 format, for the OKC to win in 5, they'll have to win 2-3 in Miami... in 2-2-1, they'd only need to win 1-2 in Miami. Pretty ldo

Doc: "You can't win a championship fight if you don't throw punches!"

How unlucky for him that the Pacquaio fight didn't come before their game, you can indeed win one without throwing punches. Celtics would be on their way to OKC.

I believe they'll pay to keep it together (they pretty much have too) But, even if they amnesty Perk, and Harden gets his max after next season, they're at ~51mm with only 5 players under contract. Then you pay Ibaka 8-10m a year, and you're around ~61mm, with 6 players. They have to be willing to get into the luxury tax threshold, though.

I almost dropped "The More You Know" gif, but that one is more appropriate.

You're basically calling out iggy to be a fraud (front-runner, etc.).. the gif is a really "tough" guy rapping.. and then as he finishes his rap he skates off, because he's on roller skates.

Thanks for linking that! Very cool to read through it now that we know how it all played out. Fairly obvious, but it's been a magical five years for the C's. I can only imagine the sense of justice felt in 2008 by those who loyally supported them through the few years before the trades.

If they're smart they might yet eke a couple more tough years out of what is there. But this was a great playoffs to go out as being the "Big Three". Tough, tough bunch.

In European soccer, not only are the losers not allowed to go to the locker room early, they're forced to go through a ceremony where they get "2nd place" medals. Wish KG had to go through that.
