Joey Crawford and Scott Foster tonight. Foster got 10k phone calls from donaghy before and after games. Joey Crawford won't necessarily rig this game, but there will be a ton of whistles, which favors Miami.

"With the exception of 150 calls Donaghy placed to Thomas Martino, to whom he says he provided “picks” to win games and who was the middleman between the disgraced referee and a bookie named James Battista, the ex-ref phoned no one more than he called Foster."
"Donaghy might logically communicate with other referees he was officiating with . . . But Donaghy and Foster did not referee a single game together during the 2006-2007 season."

hey man, David Stern said Donaghy was one rogue official and he will fine / bury anyone who even suggests otherwise. Are you suggesting he's lying in order to cover up problems and strongarm everyone into presenting the image for the league that he wants?

Kobe/Wade can't live up to the standard because they're not as productive as Jordan was or Labron is, not because their styles are similar. If Bron were putting up 30 PER seasons with a style that mirrors Jordan's, he'd definitely still be in the GOAT discussion. Possibly even more so actually, since Jordan's style lends to scoring more points at the end of games, and the pundits would be fawning over how clutch Bron is.

no, if lebron had pippen and pjax he would he be in the GOAT discussion. Lebron's "stats" are better than MJ's.
spurs got outplayed, nothing else to say. OKC was amazing.
Crawford is AIDS though, I think he might edge out Derek Fisher for #1 on my list of people I want to punch in the face. I can't believe he still has a job, can't believe he gets to do so many big games. Sigh in advance at him ruining a potentially classic game tonight. God damn it.
i'm not saying anything about crawford rigging, by the way. I think my point about being whistle happy is correct, though. That's not rigging, that's just an advantage for the heat.
I'm mainly just pissed Joey C is involved in such a big game. Games 5 and 6 were refereed beautifully. Not a ton of whistles, good flow in the games, and no blatant favoritism. I want more of that in game 7.
But Joey C, even in games he refs OK, makes himself a part of the game like no other referee.

and i say this as a Lebron hater.
Depends which MJ ur talking about. Peak MJ (u know the one that never titled and won like 4 playoff series) is probably the GOAT. Winner MJ v current lebron is more interesting, I think its reasonable to take labron for a season and give Jordan the edge as a closer. I still assert that both a) lebron is underrated as a closer and b) the idea that MJ 'learned how to win' is ridic...but Jordan was a closer of the likes we've never seen.
I think one thing that is never really considered when this discussion comes up, is that its certainly possible that the 'clutch situation' seems to favor a Jordan rather than a lebron since he's a more effective mid-range player. When u match both of them up there's lots of things lebron does better like rebounding/passing/defense, but when defenses tighten up and driving is less of an option, Jordan certainly has an edge when u need to score which wud lead to him being more successful in clutch situations.
